I'm here on the internet messing around when I should be studying for tonight's test. I have no inclination of studying at the moment and have considered taking Adderall. However, I have no idea of what it actually specifically cures although I've had friends tell me it helps you concentrate. My question is, if I take adderall, will it make me do something, like if I take one now, would it make me start studying and stop messing around?

I don't actually have any pills; I said it hypothetically speaking. I am wondering however what would be a good recommended dosage. I'm a 5'10" male that weighs 180 lbs.

Adderall is brand name for a mixture of amphetamine isomers and salts.
It contains the D-dextro and L-levo isomers of the amphetamine molecule and 3 different salts, including saccarate, sulfate, and aspartate.
In simplest forms, Adderall is nothing but a big SPEEED concoction.
It is prescribed to people who have Attention Deficeit Disorder, or as an anorectic (to make fat people not eat so much).
These other people have obviously no experience in amphetamines at all, and are just trying to encourage you not to do it. They talk of it making you sick and hyper, that is absolutely untrue. It will make you completely stimulated in the task that you choose. Basically, amphetamine is a miracle substance. It can give you the ability to concentrate in depth, even in extreme situations. Also, It doesnt necessarily make you "hyper". It makes you "stimulated". You wont be jumping off the walls or anything of that nature. You may talk more and persue more physically demanding tasks then normal. Infact i think amphetamine actually has somewhat of a calming, chill effect. It allows you to completely focus your attention to where u please it. Complete control while under the influence.
The main positive effects of Adderall are euphoria, heightened sense of awareness of all senses, ability to concentrate for extended periods of time.
The main negative effects of Adderall are slightly raised blood pressure, illegality of the chemical, and when the experience is over,(usually 4-5 hours after ingestion depending on whether it is Immediate release or XR extended release), you will feel slightly drained or in drug terms, a comedown. The harshness of the comedown is directly proportional to the dosage.
What strength do you have, I would recommend as it being your first time take no more than 50 mg immediate release, and no more than 75 mg of the XR capsules. Enjoy, I know I do.

Adderall is a very potent stimulant. It is like legal meth. I have a friend who has a child on this drug for ADHD and it is nothing to play around with. The side effects of the drug on her child are anger, lost appetite, loss of sleep, weight loss, and physiological side effects as well. It didn't calm him down so he could concentrate, it hiped him up more. After a year she finally took him off the drug. He had serious withdrawal from taking this medicine. I am happy to report he has found a medication for his ADHD and is doing better. Experts say that doctors are over diagnosing patients with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder and putting the children on these drugs without any studies showing the long term effects these drugs have on children. If I were you I wouldn't take any of these drugs you don't know the harm they might do later on. There is no drug that is a cure for bordem. Get your priorities in order and do the right thing and study. Maybe getting organized will help you. I am 45 years old, well tomorrow I will be 46. I work full time, have a family, and go to school. If I can do it so can you! It is not easy all the time, but who said life was easy.

Adderall is prescribed for ADHD. You would have to see a doctor and if you are diagnosed with ADHD Adderall could help with the symptoms. There are many different meds for people with ADHD. It all depends on the person how the medication will affect you. If you have problems concentrating then go to a doctor and see if it is ADHD and they can help you.

You need to stop worrying about timescales and time generally. Just focus on self fulfillment .... at all costs. Be short term for a while, and appreciate that it will be a passing phase ... don't get too hung up on whether something is forever of not ... EVERYTHING and EVERYONE is just a transient traveler!

Methamphetamine Hydrochloride.
Yeah, it helps with concentration. It is also addictive and only available with a RX.
They use it to treat ADD and ADHD and narcolepsy.
It is also an appetite supressant.
Now go study.

nope... It will actually make you sick when you first start taking it. and I totally agree with the person above me on all counts! Consider that a confirmation, and throw it away!
It is used to treat ADHD, Add and other conditions... It is unfortunate that you are not interested enough in your studies to actually be able to get into them.
Pretend they are a video game and you'll be fine.
Most pharmaceutical drugs take time to work and have to be introduced into your bloodstream on a constant and gradual level.
so no...it wont help you and it is illegal and very dangerous to take medication that does not belong to you! Give it back and smack your "Friend" in the face for being so stupid!

I would say yes to that : "a heightened interest in performing focus based tasks." when you procrastinate you don't have a deep interest in it.
