I'm making a table of incorrect vs correct answers on practice exams in MS Excel. I'm looking for a way to insert a checkmark symbol. Does anyone know a specific font that would have this symbol under Insert --> Symbol, or possibly an Alt-key combination? The closest I've been able to find is a square root/radical symbol. Thanks!

There is one under Wingdings in the Insert Symbol section, character code 252 and also one for character code 254

There are also "x"s... check Wingdings 251-254

If you want a "cheat", use Wingdings2 as your font type. Then the capital letter "P" is a check mark

If you are using any of the office programs you can go to File Menu: Insert>Symbol and get the Symbol Insert Dialog box. At that point go to the font Webding and Character 254 is a check box.

Hope that this helps.
