I have been dating a guy now for 12 days, seeing each other nearly every day. I am very fond of him and think I am falling for him. He appears to be fond of me too, attentive and gentle although he did say a week ago, he had no intention of falling in love again so I am staying a little armslength on this. Last night I stayed at his, he normally stays at my house. I was in the bathroom with the door open doing my hair, he asked whether I had finished, he walked in and sat on the toilet and started poo*** in front of me. I was quite surprised. He was a bit embarrassed I could see that cos he started to talk about nothing with me. I left the bathroom. I am falling for him, despite this undignified act, well for me it is. Horses for Courses. However, could he be telling me he doesnt care a p** for me or does it perhaps mean he feels comfortable. I was married for 14 years once and never saw my husband doing this?

I dont believe this, I just spoke on the phone to my new b/f and he mentioned he has to go and have a p**. I said "again", I took my chance you must feel comfortable with me, the answer came right back YES. Probably best to make humour of it, it will stop.

I don't know if you're putting us on with this story, just to evoke imaginative replies. But if your question is serious, then this is what i have to say.
"Sc-rew is sc-rew, and p-oo is p-oo, and ne'er the twain shall meet". With apology to RL Stevenson.
Tell him quite plainly that your being sexually intimate with him does not give him the right or the liberty to invade your privacy. Remember this. If a person does something that you find disgusting, he is invading your privacy. For example if a stranger exposes himself in a flash on the street to shock you, he is invading your privacy. So also, your boyfriend, by his act is invading your privacy.
I don't know about you, but many men and women have no reservations about doing all kinds of weird sexual things with and to each other in the nude, but they draw the line at p-ee-ing and p-oo-ing in front of their partners, even their spouses of many years; unless, of course, they have to due to age or infirmity. These things are always done alone and behind closed doors. And if your boyfriend's act reviles you, it's best to tell him where you draw the line. Use the first line of my answer to put your thoughts across to him in a light-hearted way.

I have a friend who is happy to sit on the toilet whilst his wife is in the bath / shower and also his wife does the same. They have been married for 20 years and I suppose must be second nature to them. The thought of it doesn't repulse me, but I would feel embarrassed to be on the toilet with my missus in the room.

Don't read so much into it, some guys are like that, my dad does it all the time (crapping in front of you that is). and yet he is perfectly capable of love. He Say's he can never love again coz he has been hurt, rejection is hard to deal with some times. Give him time and no pressure, he'll come round. for now just except his strange little ways.

You think him taking a p**p in front of you is undignified when your sleeping with him after only 12 days?

I think you need to consider the importance of the whole issue to you. I mean, I wouldn't like it if my boyfriend were to do something like that in front of me, especially not if we'd been dating for such a short space of time.

However, if you feel you can let it go, it could just be something to forget and move on from.

To be honest, the whole p**ing issue and his lack of intention of falling in love would set off warning bells for me. Go with your gut instinct. Best of luck! xx

I dont think thats right. that act was ominous, a big bad sign. 12 days is not enough to know a person, you should know you have been married before. spare yourself the trouble, im sensing this guy is not quite what he seems to be.

I've been turning this over in my mind, for I'm not a big one for formal behaviour, or for adhering to standards that other people try to impose...

However, this guy didnt even check with you that you wouldn't mind him doing that, and you have, after all, not being going together for very long!

So, like you, I wonder if he does care for you or not?

I think that was not a good idea,
or he might have been in real urgency :-)

any way!!...I think this should not a be a reason enough to drop him if you like him....

give it another go...and bolt the door this time when you hair dress
