Well for me when it happens, I am going to fly away to meet Jesus in the air.

Did you know there are no actual Biblical references to support "The Rapture"? It all started about 1830 when a teenage girl had a vision in her barn about Jesus' return and the idea was picked up and hyped by a convicted con artist Christian Preacher of dubious character. Later in the 1920's somebody else published a revised Holy Bible complete with added notations supporting the Rapture theory and it really took off from there. So if I woke up tomorrow and all the Christians were no longer here I'd think, well duh?

Sorry, Rapture theology was dreamed up in the 19th century and spread through the Scofield Bible. It has nothing to do with anything Jesus said.

As always when it comes up, I suggest The Rapture Exposed: The Message of Hope in The Book of Revelation by Barbara R. Rossing

Very strange question. You are asking us non believers what we think about a religious subject, and yet you don't want any "Smart Alec" replies. Do you expect us to say "I would immediately become a believer"?
Whatever happened on earth or in outer space I would not become a believer, I have been trying for years to work out what would need to happen to make me believe in God, or to change a believer into an atheist, there is no way, whatever you may think up.
A very difficult question to answer without being flippant, but I held myself back very well I think.

Your question is invalid as it pre-supposes that God would only select Christians and not people of goodness or godliness through acts. God is NOT a Hollywood celebrity looking for adulation or credit, He just wants us to be good to each other and to be faithful to the IDEA of godliness. If you truly believe that He will only accept those who believe in Christ and cast aside all goodly men just because of ego, then God is not what He been made out to be.

I would be unlikely to even notice, what with not very many people being involved. .

I might notice people wailing over not being "taken up" when they had expected to be, though.

As for me, I'd most likely go about my day as usual, but paying more attention to the radio news...listening for the report of massive amounts of hallucinogenics being introduced into the water supply or something similar.

BTW, this is really one of the dumbest attempts at on-line conversion I've ever read.

What if you woke up one morning and Odin was standing over your in your bedroom, and saying that Ragnarok was at hand?

What would you think had happened?

I do believe in God, and redemption through Jesus Christ.

And I still think the idea of a "Rapture" is unbiblical hogwash.

i am a christian and definitely believe we are in the last age without a doubt.

but i think people are far too caught up in this "rapture" hype.

we should be concerned about serving the lord here and now, today. it will happen when it happens, how it happens.

but...it will be subtle. it will not be what the mass christian media has hyped it to be. it will be subtle, thus many "true believers" who think they are saved, will be decieved.

The rapture is not a biblical concept.
I really sincerely doubt that it will ever happen.

After the rapture, I won't be on earth so I don't have to worry about it...
