Just be sure you have your facts straight because when the Child services get involved it is only a slightly better situation then out right harsh abuse. often the children are removed from the home and stashed in temporary foster care that is very traumatic on the kids. Its a very heavy hand that is yielded by the State and there never any winners. But it is a safety option in real abuse cases.

No you dont and in most states they have to follow up on every call they recieve.
If you do give your name, they are allowed to devulge the information to the parent if they ask.
Normally after visiting the reported residence or establishment, C.S. will know whether the call was legit or not and take it from there. They are ALLOWED in my state to release the callers name, now whether they do it or not probably depends on the agent visiting and the circumstances. Also, I have never heard of an agent telling an anonomous caller to leave thier phone number so that they can call them back and "let them know how it went"

No, but you'll get quicker action if you follow it through. Some will consider you a crank with an axe to grind if you just call it in.
Complaints in person go through an investigation rapidly. Otherwise they end up as a note on someone's desk.
You should also know that the office you call has caller ID.

Yes they will ask you for your name but they cannot tell the person you reported. Also if they find your report justified they will take over and you will be left out, They become the witnesses then.

I dont think you do, but if you have to leave your name to save a child from an abusive situation then you should leave your name.

Request an anonymous tip. They have to protect the reporters privacy!

i don't think so. i believe that you can call anonymously as a concerned citizen.

if you see something and think that you should report it do it. sometimes we're all the protection a child has.

I would. What if they have more questions or need a witness? Besides they should keep your ID secret. Remember, the childrens safety comes first.
