there are so many things which have changed even in the short life I have lived. can remember not locking the doors at night ( even in town ), walking late at night without fear, neighbors helping each other without expecting anything in return. getting in trouble at school meant trouble when arriving home. calling people older than you Mr. and Mrs. or Mr. and Miss. never by their first name. liking others and respecting police officers, firefighters, veterans, etc. because they have, are and will continue to preserve this nation.

Yes. All of those things are heartbreaking. The only thing we can pray for is that someday there will be no cost for freedom... a day when freedom itself will be free.
Out beyond ideas of wrongdoing and rightdoing,
There is a field. I'll meet you there.
When the soul lies down in that grass,
The world is too full to talk about.
Ideas, language, even the phrase each other
Doesn't make any sense.

I cry over everything, I'm soft hearted and sentimental. I'll tell you what made my nephew, a veteran policeman, cry.
He's with the Baltimore, MD. PD, and he spent an entire night sitting with the bodies of four children who had been beheaded by their father, waiting for the coroner to arrive. My nephew hasn't been the same since.
Man's inhumanity to man is perhaps the most heartbreaking thing of all.

I was with you right up until the Jesus thing... but I'm only in favor of that because this is a society of religious freedom- and that ought to include freedom FROM religion too.

You don't need Jesus to not have hatred, to not be a killer, to not be a terrorist, to know the difference between right and wrong.
You question is offensive to so many people in the world and you don't even understand that, that's what makes me want to cry.

As a Christian myself I am saddened to see all of the worlds turmoil. However, I was taught by my Lord Jesus Christ Himself that these things must take place. I simply place my trust with Him (whether or not society bans Him) and all will be well.

I agree with Andy...religion is & has been the cause of incalcuable misery perpetrated by religious zealots. Of course hatred, killing & terrorism sadden me, it should any sane person--but then zealots aren't really sane are they!

Yes it does. It makes me even more sadder that you would maybe see some idiots post on this saying crapy answers just to get their points, And then they turn around and wonder why the world is just "putting up" with everyone else.

It is why I moved to a very rural area. Modern society depresses me, I am happy in the woods with my wife, kids, grandkids, dogs, cats and farm animals.

Hmmmm, so what you're saying is only Christian beliefs are valid and everyone else should just f**k off. Right?
I don't think so. As for the Killing and Terrorism rant, please note, that Christians have done and continue to do their fair share.
Thanks for Playing.
BTW, I follow the teachings of Christ in regards to love and respect, clearly you don't get it.
