Does grains and corn have something in them that boosts the immune system? Does Buckwheat have gluten in it?

If she has celiac disease, eating foods with gluten in them will cause her to be very sick. Gluten is the protein found in grains like wheat, rye, barley, and oats, and products made with these grains. Someone with celiac disease is intolerant to gluten. It is a disease, a genetic disorder, NOT a case of not wanting to eat carbs.

Here is a good resource for information:

I avoid wheat like the plague due not to celiac disease, but to an allergy to wheat (two different things). I, too, am ill for a long time when I become ill. Grains themselves don't boost the immune system, but remember that 'enriched' flour means that they have vitamins in them. I take vitamins to replace what is not in my food. Buckwheat has no gluten on its own. If you add yeast, that's a totally different story.
