If you knew that you could live in a perfect life on a perfect earth, would you want to live forever? No problems, no sickeness, no death? Would you?

Oh my, I want to live forever! I look forward to it! A time when the world is a paradise! Imagine everything that you have not been able to see now due to sickenss or other related issues. Imagine being perfect, with no health problems, clean air, everyone happy, and serving god together. Who wouldn't want that? I want to love forever. Do you want to live forever? I do... I am shocked at the amount of different people that said they don't.... Hummmm

I know Abdijah, I agree... I could not believe it! I see why Jehovah reads the hearts of everyone, only he can truly know how the person feels about things.

Yes I certainly do! I love this awesome earth that God has given us as a home. It has everything we need to sustain a happy healthy life!(as long as we accept God's sovereignty and love him!)
I know that it is hard for some to imagine that something like that is possible, especially people who are having a really hard time now, suffering injustices and other things that come along with this system of things, but I know that this is possible, and not only possible, but that it will definitely occur! You can just watch the news and see that something has got to change and quickly! God promises us a time when all things will be reconciled! He promises us a paradise earth, where there will be no war, nor crime, nor disease, blindness, deafness, lameness, poverty...the list goes on...and yes, I most certainly do want to live here when that happens!!!!!!!!and it will...Isaiah 55:11

Isaiah 11:6-9: "And the wolf will actually reside for a while with the male lamb, and with the kid the leopard itself will lie down, and the calf and the maned young lion and the well-fed animal all together; and a mere little boy will be leader over them. 7 And the cow and the bear themselves will feed; together their young ones will lie down. And even the lion will eat straw just like the bull. 8 And the sucking child will certainly play upon the hole of the cobra; and upon the light aperture of a poisonous snake will a weaned child actually put his own hand. 9 They will not do any harm or cause any ruin in all my holy mountain; because the earth will certainly be filled with the knowledge of Jehovah as the waters are covering the very sea."

Isaiah 25: 8 & 9: " He will actually swallow up death forever, and the Sovereign Lord Jehovah will certainly wipe the tears from all faces. And the reproach of his people he will take away from all the earth, for Jehovah himself has spoken [it].
9 And in that day one will certainly say: “Look! This is our God. We have hoped in him, and he will save us. This is Jehovah. We have hoped in him. Let us be joyful and rejoice in the salvation by him.”

Isaiah 35: 5 & 6: " At that time the eyes of the blind ones will be opened, and the very ears of the deaf ones will be unstopped. 6 At that time the lame one will climb up just as a stag does, and the tongue of the speechless one will cry out in gladness. For in the wilderness waters will have burst out, and torrents in the desert plain"

Isaiah 65:21-25: "And they will certainly build houses and have occupancy; and they will certainly plant vineyards and eat [their] fruitage. 22 They will not build and someone else have occupancy; they will not plant and someone else do the eating. For like the days of a tree will the days of my people be; and the work of their own hands my chosen ones will use to the full. 23 They will not toil for nothing, nor will they bring to birth for disturbance; because they are the offspring made up of the blessed ones of Jehovah, and their descendants with them. 24 And it will actually occur that before they call out I myself shall answer; while they are yet speaking, I myself shall hear.
25 “The wolf and the lamb themselves will feed as one, and the lion will eat straw just like the bull; and as for the serpent, his food will be dust. They will do no harm nor cause any ruin in all my holy mountain,” Jehovah has said

Revelation 21: 3 & 4: With that I heard a loud voice from the throne say: “Look! The tent of God is with mankind, and he will reside with them, and they will be his peoples. And God himself will be with them. 4 And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away.”

And what does the Bible say about where humans will reside in the future?

Matthew 5:5: "“Happy are the mild-tempered ones, since they will inherit the earth"

Psalms 37:29: "The righteous themselves will possess the earth,
And they will reside forever upon it."

This will fulfill God's purpose for the earth and mankind.

Yes, I do. Isaiah 33:24 and 35:1-10 are two of my favorite passages.

Just scanning through the answers to this question, I am amazed at the number of people who think eternal life would be boring.

I am also amazed by the number of people who say they are Christians but do not believe Matthew 5:5, Psalm 37:9-11, 29, or Proverbs 2:21, 22.

In a heart beat.

In fact, if my estate is worth 10,000 for cranial cryosuspension at the time of my death, that worth is to be put to that exact purpose, assuming any cryonics companies are still around by then.

Hey, I'd be dead, what's that money gonna do for me? Might as well take the 1 in a 10.0^12 chance that someone'll figure out nanotech sufficiently to restore me.

Hey Parrot: She said a perfect life -- a perfect life would have challenges to overcome and things to learn. It wouldn't be perfect otherwise. It wouldn't, however, have PROBLEMS... that is, I could have the resources I need to overcome and learn without having to go through the years of drudgery to build up to it (ie: if I needed that brand new scanning-tunneling electron microscope, I wouldn't have to work for 100 years to be able to afford it... but I'd still have to figure out where to put it, learn how to use it, and decide what to shove in it to observe).

She also said perfect, so it'd have to be a world without religious compulsion -- that is, if someone was religious, they'd keep it to themselves, if religion existed at all in such a situation. I can't imagine a perfect world that includes a god or religion but hey... it's a hypothetical question.

Yes, as long as the problems of this system of things are eliminated. The bible promises that they will be!

Jehovah's Witnesses understand the Scriptures to teach that God's Kingdom will soon replace all earthly governments.
(Daniel 2:44) God of heaven will set up a kingdom... It will crush and put an end to all these kingdoms, and it itself will stand to times indefinite

That Kingdom will rule over the vast majority of mankind, most of whom will have been raised from the dead after Armageddon.
(John 11:23,24) Jesus said to her: “Your brother will rise.” Martha said to him: “I know he will rise in the resurrection on the last day.”
(Acts 24:15) There is going to be a resurrection of both the righteous and the unrighteous.

Until that resurrection, there is no suffering in "hell", or the grave. Sometime after the resurrection, death and "hell" will themselves be destroyed.
(Ecclesiastes 9:5) For the living are conscious that they will die; but as for the dead, they are conscious of nothing at all
(Ecclesiastes 9:10) there is no work nor devising nor knowledge nor wisdom in Sheol ["hell"]
(Revelation 20:14) And death and Hades ["hell"] were hurled into the lake of fire

While a limitted number of humans will be resurrected to heaven to share in ruling over mankind, the vast majority (literally more than 99.9%) of Jehovah's Witnesses expect an EARTHLY hope, the same hope given to Adam and Eve.
(Genesis 1:28) God blessed them and God said to them: “Be fruitful and become many and fill THE EARTH and subdue it [caps added]
(Genesis 2:17) You must not eat from it, for in the day you eat from it you will positively die [so never eating from that tree means never dying]

Interestingly, the Scriptures are full of references to this earthly hope.
(Psalms 37:11) 'the meek will possess the earth'
(Proverbs 2:21) 'upright will reside in the earth'
(Isaiah 45:18) 'God formed the earth to be inhabited'
(Matthew 5:5) 'the mild will inherit the earth'
(Revelation 21:3) The tent of God is with mankind

Yes I would! Im a Catholic and I believe that when I die I will probably go to purgatory first to purify myself before going to heaven. Oh and by the way, the Earth will be destroyed on the Last day.

God Bless- Father, Son, and Holy Spirit +++

Even if I was assured a perfect life without sickness and disease or even death here on this earth I would still turn it down. The world is still full of sin. I'd rather live with Jesus in perfection and holiness.

Only if I were richer than Gates or on Social Security. If I had to get up and go to work 5 days a week, no, I'm glad it will end eventually.

Now, if I could work from home and do what I liked doing and wanted, that'd be a different story!

You wanna do whatever you current do for, say, 10,000 years!

Of course. With so much to see, so much to do, so much to learn. With the help of our infinite Creator, Jehovah, he will keep us busy forever.
