I heard that program rarely works. What you need to do is buy these pills (I believe they are prescribed) that you take in the morning. Basically thier function is to do absolely nothing UNLESS you drink. What it does is trigger a mechanism which will make you feel sick and cause you to throw up even if you have one beer.

What these pills will do to your brain is cause an assosiation with beer and being sick, therefore ruining any crave to drink alcohol.

Once you find yourself at a normal level of drinking (say no more than a few glasses of wine or a beer here and there) you can take yourself off the pills and be a casual drinker.

This is just my opinion, I'm no doctor or a professional. If you really want more information I suggest you get a checkup to see if you damaged your liver..etc which will then wake you up to the reality you're living in (if its really that bad as you say)

AA didn't work for me or rehabs 5 times. It took a real bad car wreck and a wheelchair to make me stop. Now, I'm to afraid of falling and not able to get back in the chair, I do nothing that might affect me. Also as bad as this is, I would rather be this way, it keeps me sober.

You could go but I went and had counseling and I still drank. Dec 19th will be a year and that was me drinking ALOT all the time for years. I focused on my family and saw that I was losing them, I felt like crap, I couldn't function. Supports groups are wishy washy to me, but you have to find something if you want to stop. For me it was 2 DWI's and seperation from my son and husband, that's a wake up call. You just need to keep it in the back of your head that it will destroy you.

Honestly you may be up against certain factors that you have not concidered.
Like spiritual factors. Have you every tried chanting a mantra for protection?

It works. Unbelievably well. The one i am talking about is 'Shree Gurudev Datta' - Keep repeating it and just observe the change in your life.

Not sure, nobody likes a quiter. If you think it is a problem, then yes. If not, you are just a drunk, not an alcoholic.
