I started using Sonicare toothbrush. I like its performance very much, but someone told me that some studies have shown that the sonic action of this toothbrush not only lifts plaque, but also damages tooth enamel. Sonicare website, naturally, does not provide this data. Is it true & where can I find data from these studies?

I have both Oral B and Sonicare. I feel like both of them are doing good jobs, Sonicare maybe a tad better.

I have neither seen in my practice nor have come across any studies mentioning damage to the enamel of teeth because of sonicare use. I certainly have seen more damage caused to enamel of teeth by the use of a hard or medium bristtle toothbrush though.

I have a Sonicare toothbrush too and I haven't heard anything about it damaging tooth enamel.
FYI, so far I like my new Sonicare better than my Oral B that I bought a couple of years ago.

I USED TO HAVE AN ORAL-B. I REPLACED IT WITH A SONICARE.
WHY?
YOU DO A SIMPLE TEST. GET A CUP OF GRAPE JUICE AND DIP BOTH TOOTHBRUSHES INTO THE CUP INDIVIDUALLY.SEE HOW THE SONICARE PRACTICALLY EXPLODES THE JUICE WITH THE STRONG VIBRATIONS. THE ORAL-B DOES NOT.
WHAT'S THE EFFECT OF ALL THE PLAQUE IN THE MOUTH WITH EITHER BRUSH?
YOU HAVE THE ANSWER.
ps. enamel can't be hurt,but gums will or dentin too, with the use of a medium or hard-bristed brush.

I have not seen any legitimate studies showing Sonicare damages tooth enamel.
If you have seen such a study, could you add a link?

Buy the Oral B tooth brush. Sonicare doesn't do a good enough job
