Before immigrating to either Australia or New Zealand, I suggest that you visit each countries first. Australia is a larger continent and the 'style' of each states are quite different. Being metropolitan cities, Sydney—and to a smaller degree—Melbourne, are quite fast-paced. In contrast, the other state capitals are a little more sedate and each have rather unique lifestyles. Australia also has more Asian population than New Zealand, with most Japanese living in Sydney and Melbourne. New Zealand's advantage over Australia, being a country that lies over two tectonic plates, is the rich plant life, snow-capped mountains and plenty of hot springs (similar to Japan).

The immigration process to Australia and New Zealand is similarly difficult, so you might want to look at the requirements for each to find out which one is more suitable for you.

As living expenses in Australia varies between states but $1000-$1500/month should keep you living comfortably (rent+utilities+transport). You will need about $200 to apply for private health insurance, accommodation deposit (usually $500 or two months' rent). You might also want to buy a PC here, which will cost somewhere around $1000-3000. Set aside $3000-$5000 to buy other things such as a bed, chairs, tables, etc. unless you rented a fully furnished place.

I hope the links I posted will help.

Coming from Japan, you would like New Zealand better, I believe. New Zealand is a more gentle culture than Australia, and my impression is that New Zealand is more like Europe, while Australia is more like the USA. Compared to Japan, your living expenses will be very low here, but your salary will also be lower. With your 15 years of experience as a programmer, you can probably expect to earn between NZ$ 50.000 and NZ$ 110.000 per year; renting or buying a normal house will cost you about NZ$ 1000 to NZ$ 1500 a month, groceries about NZ$ 500, and car insurance NZ$ 30. Your initial setup cost if you have a job, not your own company, will be around NZ$ 10.000. That should cover your ticket to get here, safety deposit or bond for a rental house, possibly buying a car (reasonable cars are available from NZ$ 2000, like a 1994 Mazda MX6), and paying the fees for immigration services. My advice to you: Don't use an agency for your immigration, you can do all that yourself very easily. Look at the website: www.immigration.govt.nz . It would be a good idea to keep practising your English, although I think that you write English very well - maybe you are just being modest? I know many people from japan who say their English is not so good, when in fact it is very good. I am certain you would enjoy being here. The people are nice, and your working day will be short in comparison to Japan. Most people work 34 to 40 hours a week maximum if it is a fulltime job, and Monday to Friday only; you will have at least four weeks of paid holiday per year. Good Luck!

ok properly to commence with i do not recognize a ton about NZ, inspite of the actuality that I truly were to Wellington and that i presumed it change into best. regarding Australia properly do not worry too a lot (with respect to the different human being) about what human beings imagine of the authorities, that is all a count number of opinion. Sydney has the finest seashores of the three best cities (Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane) despite the indisputable fact that it really is likewise truly busy and large (spread out). also the beachside form suburbs are truly expensive to stay in. would I advise a number of our close by cities? granted they could have a lot less employment opportunities yet they actually have wonderful seashores and are large sufficient that each and every one those belongings you're searching for accessible. The Gold Coast south of Brisbane in Queensland is a brilliant position albeit somewhat partyish. Newcastle and Wollongong north and south of Sydney New South Wales respectively are sea coast area cities with business histories inspite of the actuality that now they're getting fairly present day. ultimately you may want to judge Geelong south west of Melbourne Victoria. i'll't say i recognize too a lot about Geelong yet its in a chillier area of Australia. wish this may help in figuring out a area or city.

Those are the most desirable destinations in the world. They are very selective on incoming immigrants.
