Different trim and equipment levels.
RL was the base model - no electric toys, single piece folding rear seat, etc.
RN was the mid-range higher-volume model, with a few more creature comforts and a split-fold rear seat. I think it also had a glass pop-up type sunroof.
RT was the original top-of-the-range model (although more luxurious models came later) with electric windows, remote central locking, more luxurious cloth on the seats, front fog lamps, remote audio controls and more.
Initially the RL and RN had the 1.2- or 1.4-litre petrol engine or 1.9 diesel, and the RT had either a 1.4 petrol, 1.9 diesel or (in a few rare cases) a 1.8 petrol engine.

RT is the best! It will have more toys. And be a 1400 cc, the others are lower spec

RT mate has one (used to be my mums). colour coded mirrors, bumpers. met paint c/l e/w p.as. 1.4 engine big comfy seats electric sunroof. great car for price.
