I went back to Peru before my US divorce was finalized (November), and married another person in August, thinking that the US marriage was finalized. Is my marriage to the second person in Peru valid? I am divorcing in Peru now anyway, would I have to go through the divorce process in Peru, or is the marriage just not valid?

If you married someone in Peru while you were still married in the USA, your Peru marriage is not valid. The law prohibits what you did, and even, if you didn't know what was right or wrong, it doesn't excuse you from liability.
In other words, you were married TWICE at the same time, and it is not valid.
I am not sure about having to get a divorce in Peru, so you should probably contact a lawyer to take care of any possible future legal issues, such as jail, for example.

The marriage in Peru is not valid, but you should go through with the divorce process anyway, just to assure that there will be no ambiguity or questions in the future.

Tell ya one thing I do know. My husband is Peruvian (here legally, for anyone who thinks otherwise). His brother did the SAME thing you did. He was deported and cannot apply to come back to the US for 10 years. Serves him right for being DUMB.

No it isn't. But since you are getting divorced, you will have to contact a lawyer and you can just ask him about it to be sure.
