Prospect Park, Shore Road, 86'th street, Downtown Brooklyn, There are LOADS of great things to see in Brooklyn. But if you really want a treat and enjoy Christmas, go to 12th ave. and 84th street. Go at night!!! You will see a line of cars and a traffic cop. They will be directing traffic up one of the most awesome blocks in NYC. Every house is lit up with some of the most elaborate Christmas displays you're ever going to see. Trust me on this one. It's fantastic. They usually start lighting up on the second week of December. Have Fun!
Oh, and stay out of Bed-Sty!!!!!! Not an Artist Community.

Prospect Park is very nice. Get off at the 7th ave stop on the F train. You can walk around Park Slope which is a really beautiful Brooklyn neighborhood. Tree lined, brownstone streets. Its right out of the movies (or the cosby show). It is a safe, family neighborhood, tons of children, lots of good restaurants and shops to try.
The park has a skating rink, a small zoo, there is a farmer's market at Grand Army Plaza on the weekends. 7th ave has a flea market on the corner of 2nd street every weekend. Lots of great finds there.

It relies upon on what your hobbies are. familiar Park is a super place and better of all, unfastened! there are various distinctive areas of the park to appreciate. there's a value in case you desire to pass to the zoo, although that's a small zoo, so i actually does no longer difficulty. in case you like background, the Ellis Island is a could desire to! Even moreso, IMHO, than seeing the Statue of Liberty, which mutually as astounding and exciting isn't the real tale. the real tale of usa and immigration lives at Ellis Island. in case you like Museums, the The Metropolitan Museum of artwork (on 5th Avene in familiar Park) is a could desire to! they have artwork from historical instances to modern-day day. there's a $20 suggested donation, yet once you're a scholar this is purely $10. you are able to spend an entire day in the Museum and not walk during the comparable hallway two times. i could additionally advise which you pass to a close-by e book place before you come back to pass to and seem at some instruction manual books. possibly you will locate one that appeals to you and what you appreciate doing. it can be a precious purchase to income up somewhat before you get to ny. this is fairly a great city with lots potential to spare. definite, this is grimy and this is noisy, although this is the heart beat of usa!
