my suggestion to you is get round to your GP and explain just what you have said here, and get off down for an xray

Nah, I get that - don't worry.

When you're exercising though, don;t have cold water - I've found that both my chest and stomach get uncomfortable if I glug cold water after running or swimming. Add a splash of boiling water to a mug of cold water, then drink it.
