Ich wuerde mich freuen bald wieder von dir zu hoeren! (I am looking forward to hearing from you)

Machs gut, ich hoffe, du meldest dich bald!(Take care, hope you respond soon (in English it sounds desperate, in German it doesn't)

Ganz liebe Gruesse, bis hoffentlich bald! (Greetings, hopefully soon (could mean letters, phone, real life meetings, really general, but really nice also)

And to say bye you say
Dein (if it is one person (referring to the person you send the letter) & you are male)
Deine (if it is one person & you are female),
Euer (if it is more than one & you are male)
Euere (if it is more than one & you are female)

Mit freundlichen Gruessen, but that refers more to an informal Businessletter... or people you dont really know well. In my opinion at least.
Hope this helped.
