She is very mature and one of the few that young without a tatoo above the crack of her butt. She says that I'm more macho and level headed than guys her age. Is a 16 year age difference that big of deal?

There is technically nothing wrong with it since you are both adults in the eyes of the law, and at 22 she is certainly capable of rational thought. Women are always searching for more mature guys because many of them believe that men never catch up on the maturity scale, hence they date older guys. This is a fallacy. Girls mature faster than guys in the 10-16 age range but after that it levels out. Just be prepared for the fact that no matter how mature she may be you have a hell of a lot more life experience than she does!!!! and you may feel more like a mentor than a boyfriend at times if the relationship gets serious. Like someone else already posted, she is going to act like a 20 y/o when you are acting like a 40 y/o!! You both need to understand this. My mother married a guy 14 years older than her and he started acting like a senior citizen and she started acting like a teenager.

You both are old enough to understand the deal so go for it.

Well, I know a couple. He is 57 and she is 43, which is a 14 year difference. Funny, they both look the same age.

Umm... society in general will not like it. I'm 22 myself and I wouldn't have any problems going out with a guy who is 16 years older than. It isn't "wrong", just not 'socially correct'. If you two can stand the stares and/or rude remarks. However, I really don't think she is more 'mature'; I haven't heard any women above the age of 25 refer to a guy as 'macho'... sounds silly.

No it's not wrong. but as a 38 year old man realize that she still has alot of growing to do. Realize i said growning, not growning up. at 22 i was very mature and dating a 38 yr old. but at 32 now i'm a whole different woman, still with the same man but he has had to adjust more to my growth than I his. if you committ to understanding her growth and alloying her to be herself as she grows, emtionally, mentally and physically there is no reason this can't work.....there are some challenges that will be presented and you have to be very secure remember she is 22 probably very attactive and if your insecure your only gonna drive her away. At 38 i think you should be mature enough to handle this. Good luck.

i do no longer inevitably think of that there is something incorrect with it. They get alongside nicely and have no issues. All it says bearing directly to the guy is that he's attracted to a youthful woman. i understand there would desire to be adjustments in adulthood stages and existence objectives, yet whilst it would not pose a situation for the relationship, then there should not be any question approximately it.

Big difference between a 10 year old and 20 year old. You are both considered adult and are capable of making decisions about yourselves that younger people can't. The only issue is if she is going to be able to relate to your life experiences and if she can accept that you are more stable.

Who cares dude? As long as you're both happy together that's what is important.

It seems to me that you have both found potential in eachother and are serious so what's the big deal. Enjoy it!!

(NB - Plus......you're an older guy and your hanging out of the back of a young woman!!!)

A guy I work with is 45, and dates a 21 year old. We pick on him non stop.

Isn't this the eternal question? It can work, but you have to be able to relate to one another. You also have to have reasonable expectations. You should expect her to act like a 22 year old, and not resent her for it. She should expect you to act like a 38 year old, and not resent you for it.

No there is nothing wrong with that at all. More power to you and her

For the record, the tattoo above the butt is sexy. It is also sluty. We like to refer to that as a TRAMP STAMP.

They kind of brand themselves to make them easier to recognize.

Age is but a number. It's attitude that counts. If you make each other happy, the h*ll with what other people think.
