Not all Christians are like the ones youve met. Not all of us hate homosexuals and wish them ill, not all of us voted for Bush, not all of us insist on shoving our beliefs down your throat, not all of us are hypocrites, are intolerant, are judgmental, and hateful.

Give credit where credit is due. A few bad apples spoil a bunch?

Christians, how many of you are not like the Christians, who insist on intolerance and judgments? Lets see, on the board, how many loving and tolerant, open minded Christians are here.

Everyone else, will you at least concede that SOME Christians give the rest of us a bad name??

I'm an atheist, but a have a very deep respect for missionaries,,as for the other so called " Christians" who just sit there bottoms down into a church 1 day a week and then act like everyone else the other six days,..those are they ones who make me sick!! I know enough of the Bible to know that they are not practicing what they believe,,and I'm sure that the "God" that you believe in is weeping!..Oh and as for homosexuality your "God" clearly states that that's in abomination against him! Wow I'm an atheist and I have to tell you this..?? Are you sure your a christian..?? = Z

sure they do, but here is the thing, most "christians" who don't judge and condemn like a lot of those on here, if asked on a subject like homosexuality for one, avoid the question because the fact is, if they profess to that faith they must condemn that act...If you don't then your not really christian. For to be christian is to live by "christian values", nowhere does it say to be christian is to simply have a belief in christ(how many issues could be resolved if that was the only real criteria)

Let me give you an example. If I say I am a vegetarian and can't then go around having meat when I feel like it. This is one of the black and white issues. Christian faith may preach compassion but it also preaches sin and condemnation. If you choose not to agree with this part of the faith then you are not by definition Christian.

Just because you were baptised and have a belief in Christ doesn't make you Christian. I own a car and drive it but I ain't Michael Schumacher...

We are what we choose to be...If you choose to be christian you choose to condemn all those acts that christianity condemns...

I do not hate anyone- But I speak the word of Truth- however there is a way to do this without being judgmental. Speak the truth in Love as Jesus says to. I do not hide the truth though- And I do not sugar coat it just to win attention and favor. But I speak it in love and concern. I have seen very judgmental questions and comments that shock me- and make me ill when I think of how these people are making christianity look. We know that this is NOT of God.
But the Lord tells us to preach the good news- and if some do not want to hear, He tells us to "shake the dust from our feet" move on- do not cast our pearls before swine. I do not push anyone- I share the word- and those that want to hear- Praise God for that!
It is not our job to walk around pointing fingers at those who are in sin and saying harsh judgments. As it says in the Bible:

Luke 6:42
How can you say to your brother, 'Brother, let me take out the speck that is in your eye,' when you yourself do not see the log that is in your own eye? You hypocrite, first take the log out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to take out the speck that is in your brother's eye
Luke 6:37
[ Judging Others ] "Judge not, and you will not be judged; condemn not, and you will not be condemned; forgive, and you will be forgiven;

John 7:24
Do not judge by appearances, but judge with right judgment."

I agree, but please see the same about all muslims as well. Just as I know for a fact all Christians are not the same, so is the case with muslims. My mother is a Christian Lutheran, and I am a Muslim. I celebrate her holidays with her, and she celebrates my holidays with me. For education purposes, my children when spending the weekend with her do go to Sunday Service. I allow it because I want them to know exactly WHY they are muslims. I also want them to be able to choose because they do have that right. My family is mostly catholic, and they don't look down their noses. We are a very open family when it comes to acceptance of others. We have to be, we are MADE of that, LOL.

There are good eggs and bad eggs in every group, and there are idiots who want to believe the worst of a group because of the bad eggs. As an athiest who has tried to give my group a better name, I respect your efforts as a Christian doing the same. I sincerely hope people hear you.

Many are Christian in name only, but the true believers know who they are. It is a given, that in every arena of this life, there are some bad apples.

Rest assured, the majority of us are aware that it all Christians aren't like the noisy few that scream about hell fire and damnation 24/7. Unfortunately, they tend to scream a lot louder than folks like you.

Bright blessings.

When men teach things that are contrary to the Bible we are commanded to actively oppose such ideas. Tolerance means acceptance to homosexuals. I don't want to be a luke-warm Christian. I want to bring salt (flavor) to this world. If that is giving you a bad name, maybe you should change your name.
