heak no i wouldn't i can get a better job with benefits at the same price. but anyways, i don't think this is what the question is about. most people would say that immigrants are taking their jobs away but is it true. i think not they are doing jobs that we don't want. do you know have they are treated in the feilds.... there is a saying.... you don't know a person until you been in there shoes. personally i haven't but i have heard stories from my family that had to go through that to get to where they are.

Why not let the market system find out?
Maybe strawberries will cost more. But then again, income and property taxes, and medical bills, will probably be greatly reduced if we use only LEGAL labor.
PS Economics alone does not dictate the answer. I would have been for abolition, no matter what economic effects the end of slavery would have had on the South.

They make about $14 bucks an hour, paid by the basket, and used to make 40% more in real income before illegal immigration ruined the gains the UFW had made under Chavez.
Chavez was violently against illegal immigration. Did you know?
It is such a joke to see pictures of his widow fondly embracing Elvira Arellano, under the circumstances....

The only white American I have heard of doing this was training to join the peace corps. I think most Americans would rather work McDonalds than be a migrant farmer.

Some people are willing to work at any ordinary jobs to try to make a living while others prefer drawing well fare that helps with their doctor bills.

I guess Americans got by just fine before illegals came here. And maybe they work for 5.75 an hour but they can get free health benifits ,housing and food, its called welfare and we have to pay for that, and by the way I work for $6 an hour with no benifits, and I cant get welfare. Send em back to Mexico I say, they cost more to support them with welfare than they save us by working here.

If it is so awful, you know they can just go back. And since the minimum wage was increased, I am sure there will be plenty who would do it in America.

I'm sure a few are. Obviously not enough though otherwise the market opportunity for illegal immigrants would not exist.
