We do not control our destiny... but we can if we really want to!
The destiny of a human being is fixed or variable. Can the control of destiny be exercised by one! Is it possible for a normal human being to take complete control of his destiny? Is it possible to manifest destiny?
Yes! It is possible to manifest destiny if you are able to understand the crux of life. The destiny of every human being rests with one. It is like a chest of gold the key of which is not immediately made available to us. Only having passed certain standards in life would the key become available to us?
To be able to manifest our own destiny there are some requisites fulfilling which one shall be able to manifest his own destiny? The moment one enters the domain of human life... the highest manifest stage in the cosmic life... one can reach the stage of enlightenment and finally salvation. Before that we need to take control of our destiny in totality. How?
Before we indulge further in the matter of destiny... we need to understand the reality of life!
The garb of a human being has been taken by our soul atman within. It is not vice versa. It is not within the competence of a body to inherit a soul atman within. That is just not possible. Our soul atman within has taken the body to purify itself of all the impurities contained within. Unless and until our soul atman is devoid of all the dross within... it can never become enlightened and gain salvation.
The goal of life belongs to our soul atman within. The body only does its bidding! It is only when the body sublimates itself entirely at the disposal of the atman soul within... can the body manifest destiny. The ego of the body has to be merged with the larger ego... the ego of God Almighty. Unless the body completely surrenders its ego and merges with the larger whole... the body can never manifest destiny.
Having realized the truth of life... submerging our ego with that of Almighty God... one does manifest destiny for ever. It is at this point our soul atman becomes governing. The ego of a human being having merged completely with the desires of the soul atman within... the soul atman becomes free to reach its goal at the earliest. Well its sorta both. I mean, if fate determines us smoking, but then we say NO to anyone pressuring us, and never even touched one in our life's, that would mean we are controlling our destiny. I mean, if we want to go t college, but fate says due to lack of money or finance, you will work in McDonald's. But you work hard in school and get a scholarship, then you have just went against faith. However fate is sometimes correct. Like for death, it know your death. I mean people have been dieing from a range of all ages. From infants to old age. Fate knows about that. See what I mean? lol

It is only seen as fate or not fate, by our own convictions. In reality, I consider that same as man, a higher creator would make the seen world and the unseen world of energetic forces, be self containable under set laws, that even after influences or interactions of humans, would deliver the most adequate outcome according to the sort and level of personal, or social collective interactions. So what you see as a regret turned out to be, not a regret, but an opportunity to attain that what you before or later, saw as the amazing thing. So there is not fate, but only a logical outcome whether by a physical move, or by an attachment to expected beliefs. There is reality, and believed man made reality. So within resolutions of man made reality i.e. Prophetic fulfillment, there are persons or events that can be perceived by our senses as fate.

For some chose to control destiny and others leave it to fate so that they can blame others.

We control nothing. It is just fate. If we control anything how do you account for eating, passing urine, passing motion. When you cant control such small daily chores, can you control your destiny?

Both....you have a limited control over your destiny...the only thing that can thwart it sometimes is fate. But they BOTH play a role.

The universe is 100% stoichastically deterministic. That is, quantum randomness plays a role, but the quantum randomness is still bounded by heisenburgs' indeterminancy principle and the shrodinger principle.
Since the mind is a behavior and state of the brain, which is itself dependant on the laws of physics, there is no free will, no matter how great the illusion may be.

We make choices (even the choice of inaction) which open new opportunities and close other opportunities for us. If you want to call that "destiny" or "fate", then I guess it is.

I do not believe you can control your destiny. If one could, then people would be able to choose how they live or die.
