Exodus Chapter 12 verse:29

" And it came pass at midnight that the lord struck all the firstborn in the land of Egypt"

Imagine you are an egyptian paesant living in that era.
You have your lovely first born.
When GOD came, he struck!
Not even sparing a life of a innocent baby!
How would you feel?

Is GOD cruel , mean and not forgving in nature?

Though jesus died for our sin.

He is like a son who persuaded his dad to allow all his friends to come into his house.
But yet Dad remains Strict, Fussy and he easily get angry when his rules are not properly followed in the house.

To what i see Jesus merely opened the door for us.

What happen in the kingdom of heaven?Had anyone wondered will life be easy living with someone so strict?

Dear me.....Jesus who died for you is God in the flesh he has been a part of God forever and he is in total agreement with the father now understand a first born son could be 999 years old also understand that the passover happens today if you do not have the blood of Jesus covering your sins you are a dead man. Seek God and his word for understanding.God's nature is the same today yesterday and tommorow. It is righteous and merciful...God's righteousness demands we be perfect and yet we are not. It is the reason God willingly laid down his flesh to atone for your sin.

Ah, but see, there's a big problem with that story...

The Egyptians were obsessive record keepers. They kept track of *everything* -- from the amount of grain grown on each plot of land, to a census of their citizens every year, to the height of the annual flooding of the nile, all kinds of civil and administrative records. A vast number of those records have survived to today, which is one reason we know so much about Egyptian life.

But guess what? Nowhere in these exhaustive records of Egypt is there any mention of all of the firstborn children dying. One would think that such a calamity would certainly have been recorded in the civil records...but there is nothing. Nada. Zip. No mention of any of the other "plagues" supposedly wrought by Moses and god, either. Why do you think that is? Could it be that it never happened? That the whole story is made up, in an effort to make the hebrews' history look more impressive, and to make their mythical god seem more powerful? Hmm...

The Egyptians had heartlessly murdered the children of Israelites a few decades before. So at that retribution should have been due. The Pharaoh had been repeatedly warned to set them free. Already nine signs of wringing had been given to the Egyptians, but Pharaoh stubbornly refused to cooperate with God's request. this stubborn hard-hearted attitude in the face of repeated warning is what brought death to th 1st born. People were warned of the steps to take to save lives. For example In a Caribbean town everyone was warned by scientist that a volcano was going to erupt. But Officials said the people should remain though there were fumes and quakes all evidence of the impending devastation. The volcano erupted killing all the inhabitants of the island. Who was to blame?

Dear friend and fellow member of the unity of this world! Hey pal, wait a sec. you see, the story is written by men! So what you might say? Well, when did we men like to give our women any power or free will my lad? You are right, not even today we can manage that, so back to your question my good pal, if our good friend and best pal Jesus had written this ****, it would not be like that at all....., why???? well Jesus, the first Hippie to walk the earth, believed in love pal!!!!! and to forgive your next!!!!! Jesus was a freak and a hippie who actually believed we could live together in peace, and there you see the bible has lost it somewhere, clearly or else every christian man would not lift a gun to hurt others ok!!!!!

Peace and love from Norway

God doing that to the Pharaoh would be like God doing that to Hitler. The Pharaoh had all of GOD'S PEOPLE in slavery, killing them, beating them up, working them to the bone. Men, women, AND children. God first sent the plagues, which I recently found out that each plague countered each false god the Pharaoh had. Pharaoh didn't listen, was still stubborn, so yes God went as far as killing the first borns to get the Pharaoh to listen to him. I'm sure they all went to heaven, and I'm sure it didn't hurt them one bit. God swooping you up wouldn't hurt, you're there then you're not without any pain and without knowing what happened. God can be strict, but sometimes it is needed. Oh and they weren't ALL innocent babies. It wasn't the "newborns", it was the "firstborns". Someone 15 years old could've been the firstborn in a family.

You see things somewhat along the line of my own views.

From what I see heaven is a Heirachy. I full expect Gabriel to come to some of us with a broom and say "sweep eternity clean."

Can you imagine the life of a Guardian Angel! Is it 24/7/365? Do they get a day off! The Bible says so, so maybe it's 24/6/365.

Will we need rest. Will we take breaks. Do we eat.

God's examples are for MAN, not necessarily for the Heavenly.

NY, for example, has a six day work rule. It is ILLEGAL to work a person 7 straight days in NY State.

Amazing. So many ppl are willing to blame the Bible for slavery, and yet when God smites the slaveholders, they start crying 'unfair!'. What better way to punish a harsh taskmaster? What harm was really done to a child who is spared the harsh life ahead of it? You can't have it both ways. Like with abortion. It is either as wrong for us as you think it is for God, or it 'saves' the child from a 'horrible' life and was a kindness. So which is it?

Imagine out how the Jews felt when the Egyptians came and killed their first borns. Nothing like seeing a soldier grab your kid by the legs and knock his head against the wall.

The LORD giveth and the LORD taketh. Blessed be the name of the LORD. Guess what, we all die eventually. Only God has the right to take life because it is He who authored it and gave it.
