I just got a 2002 Volvo S40, and I was wondering if it has a killswitch (it shuts off when you reach a certian speed) and if it does at what speed does it shut off?

The speed governor is in the software of the computer (ECU) that controls the motor; it is set to 155 MPH and, yes, there ARE places in the world where it is legal to go that fast.

The RPM limiter is not controlled by speed but by engine RPM. They are usually set at about 5500 revolutions per minute. In top gear that would be way faster than any speed limit in the world.

depends 110 115 and the car dont actullay shut off it just shuts off the gas and slows the car down and soon as it drops it goes right back.
