I don't know about people in England, but in the english-speaking USA people now need to learn Spanish, because the majority of our population is now hispanic.
Many US jobs require bilingual (Spanish/English) employees.

Spanish is because more people are moving into the states from below the boder plus when Spanish is learned french, and Italian are easier to learn because they all are romance languages

Spanish. I've taken 6 semesters of it, so I'm TECHNICALLY supposed to be fluent in it, but I have a lot of difficulty with it. Other than Spanish, which would be most practical in the US, I always wanted to learn German.

Spanish because pretty much the only non-english speaking people in my area speak spanish, and it's cool to see them smile when someone can talk to them in it :)

I would say French, because half of Europeans speak it, half of Africa speak it, and it is the second lang. in Canada.
