Yes it does! Some commericials make them look so helpless like they have no idea how to get dinner ready or too stupid to figure it out. What bugs me more is that the commercials portray women as someone who has to save the day and write explicit directions for their helpless husband and that women are automatically are supposed to be naturals in the kitchen. UGH!

I haven't noticed that. But it's not a hot topic for me. I DO notice the way the portray women and people of other ethnic backgrounds - assuming they ever use them in a commercial.

That's why I love this one commercial so much. I don't recall what it's for, but it's about a black woman who's obsessed with shopping and fashion. It's a commercial that you could put a woman of any color into without changing the script one iota.

Actually I find it funny. To be the butt of a joke is to provide laughter to those who find it funny. The moronic man commercial style gets a lot of attention. The only ones that really get on my nerves are the ones where a guy is eating a huge sloppy burger, stuffing his face and dripping all over the place and tries to talk while he's eating. *shudder*

No. I don't watch T.V. It was designed to make people stupid and moronic.

It's better than portraying them as always all-knowing, benevolent, and mega-butch. At least we're getting a fuller spectrum.

So no, of course this does not get on my nerves.

(p.s. I'm a man.)

I haven't noticed that. I do notice that women are usually portrayed as sex hungry whores (TAG, Axe Body Spray, Beer) or as Docker's wearing cleanaholics (ANY cleaning, food, child products).
