Is rape a virtue in the Judeo/Christian faith? Genesis 19 details the escape of Lot and his two daughters from destruction.

The angels arrived and told Lot to leave the city for it has become wicked and deserves smiting.

So, Lot and his daughters were moral enough to escape the angels' wrath. I suppose Lot's wife was deemed moral enough, but she showed her true nature by looking back.

Yet, the moral daughters of Lot conspired to get their father drunk and rape him. Their desire for children was so great, they were willing to rape their own father.

A reader might be confused by this. The daughters were not chosen to be destroyed along with the rest of the city, but they performed an act that seems wicked to us. Does God condone and encourage this behavior? Is procreation so important that rape is an acceptable means to achieve it?

In response to: "they thought their family won`t be able fulfill the God`s procreations" and "they thought no one survived."

Lot took his daughters to the city of Zoar first. Then they went into the mountains. So, it was clear that there were other people. This argument does not hold water.

Besides, if you feel that there is no one to procreate with, what is the better response:

"Father, since we are the only ones left, can I have your seed so we can repopulate the world?"

"Father, have some wine. Oh good, now I can take his seed without asking for his permission. Damn, how do you get seed from a drunk guy? I'm getting one helluva workout here!"

So, even if they thought everyone on the planet was destroyed (and they knew Zoar still stood), their behavior was still rape as it was without consent.

As a Muslim of course we do not believe Lot (PBUH)'s daughters did such an evil thing. It is one of the things that have crept into the bible over the centuries. What would be the purpose of such a tale in the bible? What does it teach us? That Rape is acceptable because God doesn't condemn it? That God ignored it? That he allowed it to happen on two consecutive nights, & allowed two sons to be born from this act of incest? He didn't inform Lot of the girls plan? Or perhaps God didn't know? (of course I don't believe that!). Also the fact that Lot (PBUH) was drinking & getting drunk is usacceptable to Muslims as ALL the prophets (PBUT) were VERY pious people who did not commit sins. Whatever way you look at it, it is immoral & goes against everything Godly. Please take the time to read about Lot in Islam.

Why you say "rape" is a good virtue?
Lot and family were saved because they are Abraham`s family.
When God order/angels said "once" do not look back. You better believe it, because it is an order.
lesson # 1: Always obey God & Never doubt God`s word.
Lots family are used to the society of perverts and prostitutes where they lived for years. When it was gone together with their mom , they thought their family won`t be able fulfill the God`s procreations...(so, Lots daughters commits (incest) sin against God. That`s why from that story...they were already forgotten/vanished like non-existent person..... It means God dislike their evil thoughts & don`t have place in history, already.
lesson # 2: Don`t insist on your human thinking, reasoning, logic and wordly wisdom...because it can never match Divine plans, grand designs of what to do with you and the world.
Be careful!

Rape is seen as a method of obtaining a wife for a small fee. Dueteronomy 22:28 - 29

Men have the right to take women as wives - no regard is given for the preference of the women - and we know married people have sex. Deuteronomy 20:10-14 My opinion - if the woman is not willing to have sex it is rape! It does not matter that she is married.

If a woman does not cry for help while being raped she should be put to death. Deuteronomy 22:23-24 So rapists should keep their hands over women's mouths and they will never be punished!

Procreation does not have to be a basis for rape. It is perfectly acceptable according to the Holy Bible. Of course the christians say "oh..that was back then..." like that makes everything perfectly fine. Whatever.

Hey UFO, by that logic, the Bible can be used to justify slavery (which it once was). Just because the Bible explains an event doesn't mean that it is okay. It's an analogy. God gave us a brain in order that we use it when we read the Bible or any other religious text. I suggest you do the same.

And yet these same bible following christians will condemn Prophet Muhammd (PBUH) for marrying a so called child when at this time it was common for these ages to marry all over the world. Nope, a common practice done the world over is condemned when done by one man, but rape and incest is accepted. Oh, how lovely. What beautiful double standards. What hypocrisy.

What puzzles me is, can you get sperm out of a passed out guy ?

Anyway, it looks like the weren't punished.

I think Lot offering his daughters to the group of men outside was pretty rotten.

What? That's weird, in the Qura'n, Lot's daughters were normal, and moral! They were from the people saved from the punishment! And rape, according to our beleifs is a large sin, punished harshly.
