What you are missing is that Faith is personal. No two "faiths" are alike. Even Christians have differing faiths and love to argue about it.
Don't worry about being Christian or Catholic or Muslim or a follower of the Dancing Spiderchick.
First find your own Inner Faith, the rest will come in time.
You can be Spiritual and Faithful without being religious.

Bobby S: That is the Plan Jesus and the Holy Spirit have for you! They had the same Plan for me ! Gently, subtly, lovingly, They are turning you to the direction meant for YOU. In all "acts" that turn you toward Them: The thinking, the looking into, the searching for a rightful place, the pondering about Them ; this ALL brings Them forward in Their awareness of YOU. They begin Guiding. It may bring with it confusion and discomfort.

"Where do I fit?" you say. But, you have already turned toward Them ! The Journey can now truly begin.

Rather than doctrine or "dogma," you need something more expansive, more "open." You need to feel Their Presence, interact with Them, have one-on-one teaching and Truth presented to you by the only One Who can provide it!! You need an alive, working Relationship with the Master and the Holy Spirit (our Conscience, Higher Thought, Guide and Comforter!). You want to join your Appointed Friends (Apponted by God, Himself).

Exploration of other teachers is never "frowned" upon - for no other teacher will ever say anything different. They will use other languages - other ways of describing the same content. All great teachers were taught everything they knew by the Holy Spirit : Socrates, Plato, Confuscious, Buddha. Did you know that the principles of New Age thinking was started by Plato in Greece? And, he was based upon Socrates who learned directly from the Holy Spirit, also ! Buddha does not teach there is a God, but translated the Holy Spirit's Thoughts into a growing, expanding Self enlightenment. However it was thought of by the Buddha - they all have the same basics of the Inner Journey - Soul and a similar enlightenment.

IF you so choose - to come directly to the Master and the Holy Spirit, They will speak YOUR language and take you to levels of learning you cannot, at this moment, even imagine. THEY will teach you how to listen and HEAR Them speak. What can be SAFER than to be in Their hands, directly ? They will teach you God's principles without interpretations from others !

Consider becoming a Spiritual student. (NO occult. No !) Just you and Jesus and the Holy Spirit. Someday, YOU may teach on Their behalf ! Yes !

Two books I offer for your consideration: "The Seat of the Soul" by Gary Zukav. In Libraries or possibly still in bookstores. The Library Journal calls this book, "Remarkable. . .." This is a Simon & Schuster publication. A bookstore can order it for you.
Next, "A Course in Miracles" ( Our Relationship to God, the Holy Spirit and Jesus) will outline for you, in the Text section, how to establish a balanced position in spiritual thought. "Miracles" is the word this book uses to speak of a soul/spirit Created by God that is within - and beyond the human brain (Intellect). This book belongs to Jesus. At Libraries or directly from the Publisher at 1-415/ 388-2060, California.

Sincerely, Lana

Well first I would consider what you have done to choose a religion. Have you researched and have you taken time to explore in depth a couple that might appeal to you? Have you looked into religions that may not be necessarily mainstream but are religions none the less? These are things that I did when I felt Christianity was no longer calling to my soul.

Are you actively seeking TO fit into a religion? If you are, and cannot seem to find an organization that fits who you are, then perhaps you need to regroup as to who you are. If you are A and you want to be B, then you must conform your behavior and attitude to B! Are you willing to do that? Or are you looking for a religion in which you can do as you please and be left alone? If you are truly seeking answers, you might contact your local Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses and they will happily and free of charge study the Bible with you and see if you can find your answers there. Good luck in whatever you decide to do!

Faith is not a fly by night opportuity, it is your soul management. As a Catholic, I search far and wide and found myself right back to my faith with a twist. I deepened my experience in learning how to pray, learned more about giving and receiving, and I learned that God is a giving God and he want me to be happy.
i also learned that I am worthy of great things and I should see myself receiving Gods wishes. GEt out of the way of God, and let him guide you by asking him to Find the right church, forum and spiritual platform. Unitarian, New Thought, Scientology, etc.
are new movements in America.

The most important thing is to have inner peace and believe in your heart. You shouldn't have to try to mold yourself to fit into any certain demonination. Your beliefs and faith are between you and god. No one else should judge you. It sounds like you are letting others decide where your faith belongs.
Ignore their judgement - it says in the bible to judge not or you shall be judged by the father on judgement day. Keep that in mind. Try not to judge others (at times it is hard). If you feel you are being judged, just try to brush it off and move on.
The most important thing is that god loves you and you seem to love him as well. :)

Perhaps you're a peg that doesn't belong in any of the available holes. Try Unitarian Universalism. They don't try to tell you what to believe or make you fit a mold. They encourage you to discover who you are, not what someone else thinks you should be.

There are non-denominational Christians, who don't follow a very specific set of rites but still believe in the existence of God and Jesus.

Unless you're saying you don't fit Christianity itself...? Perhaps you should be more specific about your dilemma.

you think too much of yourself.

there are no faiths within Christianity, just different ways of practicing a common faith.
