I am about to start my Bachelors Degree in Engineering and i am thinking about textile. Can someone tell me if it is a good option or not. Is it good for working in the US? How about other places? Give me as many details as possible.... Thank You
P.S I am studying in Pakistan...NED University....well have been admitted still making my decision....

Keep in mind I'm in chemical engineering, and this is just my opinion. Compared to the more common engineering fields of study (mechanical, electrical, material, chemical, industrial), textile engineering gives you a more narrow focus. Therefore, you'll have less flexibility when looking for jobs/further education. However, you'll be a scarce commodity which makes you more attractive for the companies that need textile engineers.

I think the textile industry in the US is becoming extinct. I think most of my clothes are made in Pakistan or Thailand.
