There is a sufficient amount of egg in commercial dog foods that there is no real gain by adding more to a dogs diet. With some dogs that are having a problem, an extra egg every couple of days can make a big difference. But there IS a catch!!! While the white of an egg helps some things, and the yoke of an egg helps others, one cancels out most of the benefits of the other when both are given to a dog .

It's fine. You're not feeding your dogs eggs and just eggs are you? As Curtis said, people fearmongering is a major issue here. Salmonella risk is ridiculous (the raw feeders have salmonella-free dogs and they're eating *gasp* raw food!) and even if the Avidin would cause a problem, you'd have to give your dog a hell of a lot of egg before it caused a problem. A lot of people crack an egg over their dog's food, or just put a whole egg in the bowl. I think it's a great way to get some extra vitamins into your dog and while maybe it's not a great idea to give them at every mealtime, I can't see an issue with it. :)

Yes, in general they're fine (shell and all, if they want it), however if your dog vomited it means it was obviously too much for him. If you try again, start with only one egg. Perhaps he ate them too quickly, or perhaps it just didn't agree with him, especially if he's not used to raw foods.
And no, he wasn't "toxicated". If he simply regurgitated the eggs back up, it's not really a big deal... you can even give him a chance to re-eat them if he chooses. I'd only worry about it if he continued to act ill for a long time after eating the eggs.
I love all the responses from people who think kibble is the only thing you should feed a dog. Kibble has been around for about 80 years, and dogs have been around for a couple thousand. I'm not sure what they think dogs ate before Purina came around.

First off-the people calling you stupid for doing that have no idea what their talking about. My vet suggested raw eggs for my lab mix when we adopted him from the SPCA. My dog was missing half his hair and was emaciated to the point where it hurt him to lay down on hard floor when we took him home. We fed him a raw egg with every meal to stimulate his appetite and help his coat grow back. Two months later he has a beautiful physique and you can see your reflection in his jet black coat. The raw eggs are partly responsible for his healthy transformation and didn't hurt him one bit!

Yes, good source of protein, but don't overdue it as the yolks are fatty and full of cholesteral. If you're worried about Salmonella, dogs aren't affected like that the way people are.
I give my dogs a raw egg maybe 1-2x week.

My vet says yes that eggs are full of protein and good for their coats and I have a pom-spits with long hair and his coat is very pretty. I give my dog raw egg like once a week maybe twice. Sometimes I scramble them it does not have the same effect but he likes it. HAHA

Yes, but no more than 1 a week or it can interfere with the white blood cell count in their body.
It is a great weekly treat and I'm sure you're vet will tell you that it is completely harmless.
However, if you do a bit more research, you will find that 1 a week is the best amount to give regularly.

I used to make my own dog food with approval from my vet, to get my dog back on his feet after being extremely sick. I gave him raw burger, raw eggs, and smaller stuff like bits of celery and would put a drop of honey on top for sweetness. You shouldn't give it to him by it's self I wouldn't think, but blended with other foods, it is a very highly healthy food for part of a raw food diet for your dog
