The soul (atman) of all living beings is of the same essence except that it varies in purity.

Soul (Atman) in hinduism is that core of life in absence of which the existence of the body itself gets negated. Atman in hinduism stands for our soul which resides in the heart within the body. For that matter... every single living being... be it the form of an insect, plant or an animal... the presence of atman is a confirmed fact.

It is this fact of atman which makes India... the spiritual centre of the world. Why?

Soul Atman is the only true existence of life. Without an atman... everything in the Cosmos becomes inert matter. At the time of the birth of a being... the body gets activated by the atman within. The pumping of a heart is directly related to the presence of the atman within the heart.

Right from the beginning of the Cosmos with a big bang... it is only the journey of the atmans that led to hospitable planets like mother earth being born. The big bang resulted in all the atmans existing in the Cosmos getting scattered all over the Cosmos.

As the environs become conducive for a life to germinate... the atman settles down. This relationship between every atman and mother earth is very unique. Unless mother earth permits every atman... none can germinate itself culminating into a beautiful living being.

The journey of life (by the atman) from the first manifestation as an amoeba to the last manifestation... the 8.4 millionth manifestation when life reaches its pinnacle... the stage of an enlightened one being born... is the only crux of life one needs to understand! where does one soul end and and another begin?

where does the air in the livingroom become the air in the dining room?

i believe the answer is a dichotmy. there is only one soul. there are many souls that make up the one soul.

the one soul wanted to know itself experientually, so it individuated itself into many- while still staying connected

like the drop of water in an ocean- take it out, and it has the same properties of the ocean, but on a much smaller scale while it loses the power of the ocean.

the soul is genderless. it is our personalities that have male or female characteristics- not even our physical parts determine that in some cases.

the soul envelopes a physical body, and the human forgets the state of oneness from which it came. some have re-membered more, so they seem to be older or more advanced souls.

I would believe so.

What is a "soul"?

These four people are four souls.
"And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul." Genesis 2:7.

Answer: A soul is a living being. A soul is always a combination of two things: body plus breath. A soul cannot exist unless body and breath are combined. God's Word teaches that we are souls.

Yes, which is to say no. Because people don't have souls. We're just complicated protein reactions that exist so long as we don't reach chemical equalibrium. When you die you just go away. Women are inherently better than men though because they are significantly more attractive and most likely smarter.

No.... No two spirits were created the same; they were each made differently by the God and the Goddess. They are the two primary life forces that created every breathing thinking animal on this planet. MUCH longer than 2,000 years ago. There are human beings who are frozen in the glaciers from 100,000 years ago.

A soul doesn't have gender and each of us reincarnates as either male or female in order to learn the lessons of karma.
