I know tat even minor dehydration can cause a decline in how fast/ well you run. I need to carry water but get annoyed by it sloshing about and being heavy. Any ideas?

This may sound silly but my mate usually drives half way to his destination point and actually hides the bottle of water, be it in a hedge or up a tree then drives home and starts his run. So he's nothing to carry and still gets his liquid.
Now if you live in the city then drive to the countryside and do it and get the benifit of fresh air but if ya cant then carry a €2/£2 coin and buy it somewhere.

I have a holder that goes around the bottle and the hand, it works pretty well or for long runs I leave water on top of my mailbox, or on long runs I do different loops that come back to the house so I don't have to carry it.

I'd say a Camelbak is the best way of carrying water for any activity really.

Get a camelback, THEY SAVED MY LIFE in marching band (yeah I know, GEEK) Anyway, they are awesome cause it keeps it right there and also keeps your hand free!!! Plus it keeps the water cooler longer than other things!

They make a fanny pak that holds a bottle of water. That should keep it close to your body without much bouncing around.

You can get a camelpack if you're hard core. They sell them at running or sporting goods stores
