This kind of shelter is great for an outdoor dog. He has more then what most outdoor dogs do. He will be okay. As far as a toy, try a Kong ball. I have never heard of a dog being able to ruin one of those. you sound like a good pet owner.

Make sure the heater isn't gas. If it is electric I would have it elevated and the cord pulled up so the dog can't reach it. Kong brand toys are the best that I have used so far. Get the kind you can put treats in, I got the ball too. Nylabone is really good too. When you go to the store to get them, eat the cost. In the long run it will be worth it. I have spent too much money on crap toys that get chewed in a matter of minutes. You can also give then plastic water/pop bottles to chew on, just take off the lid, ring and lable. You have to watch bcause even though it is a cheap way if letting them play, small pieces break off and can get swallowed. Other than that, my dog loves getting a new one because they make more noise than a chewed up one.

Does the dog get any attention? Keeping a dog outside is OK, but if it doesn't get socialization then it could turn into an unfriendly dog. Just giving him toys wont be enough.
Kong toys are impossible to rip apart... they're great! Can find them at PetSmart and Petco.

He is never going to be well socialize, will probably always ruin toys and as he matures, he will turn more aggressive to his toys and people. Having him outside is a huge no-no! Dogs are pack animals by nature, meaning they live in groups. Being outside, alone, without his family, is isolating him. Many dogs, especially ones with a tendency to be aggressive as pits are, turn on people, especially those who don't know better -- the young children (toddlers). If he is not neutered, that is why he willl turn more aggressive.
Please, find this puppy a loving home where he wil be well socialized, neutered and cared for as an indoor pet, not an outside dog. The world doesn't need more socially deprived pits - this is just one of the reasons they get a bad rap.

I agree with several of the other answers...if your dog is just going to be left alone out there, find him another home. Dogs CAN *survive* in those conditions, but why have a pet then?? Can't you see about allowing the dog to be in one room of the house? I am allergic and have dogs and I vacuum and clean and it's not bad on my allergies. Plus, pits are shorthaired and one of the breeds that don't have heavy dander.
7 months is still a puppy where they are learning to be social. If you need to keep him outside, be sure you're spending several hours a day with him. Take him to obedience for a class, take him to PetSmart, walk him, you need to spend time or you will end up with a "boo-radley" dog that could become aggressive,

Sorry he has to be outside. Be sure he has blankets that stay dry, and that the heater is working...
As far as indestructible toys, a Kong (the black ones, for strong chewers) is great, and you can put food in the middle so he'll be interested in it. A lot more pet stores are getting hard-to-destroy toys that can stand up to your dog's powerful jaws!
Hope this helps

You should probably bring blankets in the shed for him because he might get really cold. You should get hard plastic/rubber toys or hard plastic chew toys and bones.
If you go to a pet shop you will most certanly find something that would be great for your buddy.
Good luck! And happy holidays both to you and your dog
If you get dog toys like these, they should last a while:

He should be OK outside. Dogs have the natural disposition for self preservation. To ease your mind, just imagine the Alaskan huskies who normally sleep outside and are sometimes left by themselves during the dead of winter to guard the mines. Normally, mineworkers come come back for them during spring but the dogs are still doing fine.
About your chew toys, my furniture barely survived during the puppyhood days of my Labrador. What calmed him is having him neutred. But, his favorite chew toy by far is an organic rope which lasts a long time and is not detrimental to your dog's health.

He will be OK just make sure you play and love him a lot. A lonely pit bull is a dangerous pit bull. My pit likes pull toys, I get the heavy ones they last longer. He likes to play with balls, full size balls, basketballs seen to last the longest. At Wal-Mart they have things call mammoth bone and he loves them. They are real cow bones bake and treated to be safe. Pig ears helps their chewing things
