I have noticed that my cat always closes his eyes when he is washing.

Cats do this so not to get hair in their eyes.

Most of the time when you see a cat washing it's because they are thinking to themselfs. I suppose you think better when you close your eyes!!

This is a no brainer. They close their eyes so they can visualize them licking another cat.....a very good looking cat.

Same reason you close your eyes when you wash your face. It's instinct, and more commonly, so you don't get crud in your eyes.

my presumption is that it feels good to themso they do it with eyes closed. they will do the bath with open eyes if they are not comfortable about something. he trusts you--you are his mom.
