A denomination is a formal affiliation of a group of churches. In most cases, a denomination is the governing body over a local congregation.
As long as a group of churches do not fall into that category, they can be as large as they want and are still considered nondenominational.

A non-denominational church is a church not associated with a denomination. In other words, they don't list themselves as Methodist, Baptist, Pentechostal, etc. Usually, they have a very simple service, without any kind of formal theology beyond some sort of basic Christian tenent.
They would be non-denominational as long they stuck with this kind of situation. Once they started delving into deeper theology and/or aligned themselves with a particular group, then they would become denominational. And yes, it is possible for a denomination to have a single church.

There is no such thing as a non-denominational church. A church is defined by its beliefs. If a church has a specific set of beliefs that are shared by the congregation, it is a denomination, whether it allies itself with a pre-existing denomination or not, and whether it calls itself a denomination or not. The only way a church could be non-denominational is to tell its congregation they can believe anything they want to, and that no specific beliefs will be preached within that church. And in that case, the group is not a church at all.

Non Denominationl church is a church that doesn't have a Specific denomination, such and baptist or methodist. It's like a Bible church, it teaches strictly from Gods word and isn't seperated into different beliefs...does that make sense?
Ok, for example, the Baptist believe that once saved, always saved. I don't. But that doesn't make me wrong, that doesn't make them wrong, it's just a difference in beliefs. So if you believe that, you are more apt to go to a Baptist Church. However, if you don't want to be labeled, you just want to be "christian" then you would probably go to a non denominational church. Does that make better sense to you?
But no matter what denomination we are, as long as we have accepted Jesus into our hearts and know him as our Lord and Savior, and live by his word, the Bible, we are going to heaven when he comes back.

Until they affiliate with a group that has "planks."
Now, a non-demoniational international organization that is founded to say, provide for better health insurance rates for the Ministers, that wouldn't count.
The "planks" have to be about "what we stand for."
