The majority of peoples on earth "believe in" a concept of GOD. The problem is most people dont "believe GOD" or believe His WORD.

In order to believe His Word they would have to be able to read for themselves and judge for themselves.

Also when communicating with GOD we must be prepared to go to the Allknowing without our intellect. Or meeting GOD on his turf without any presuppositions.

I don't think so.

I think that your thinking would need to be more abstract in order to question "god", and think about how the universe may have been created, the infinite possibilities and unknowns.

Believing in "God", to me at least, requires what I call "narrow thinking". Something that is accepted by the brain because it is already layed out for you, and you brain draws conclusions based on the original idea (ie: God Created the Universe, therefore God created everything, and is everything). You are just following the path that's been layed out for you. It is much easier to believe that God exists, and have that safety net in your life, than to question "God" and deal with the unknowns of our existence.

Abstract thinking is what makes people not believe in GOD. They say I don't believe in any god then use abstract thinking to justify their non-beliefs.

It takes a heart to believe in God. Thought processes are not going to convince you of His reality, since your mind is darkened. Apologetics have convinced very few.
On the other hand, metaphors and myths speak truth to the heart before the realization of the implications, so allegory can speak to the subconscious so that intuitively your knowledge perceives divinity.

I guess it would help. I mean you have to be able to conceptualize and reason about something that isn't easy to see or touch.
