You should have more important things to worry about.
But you can find a registry at your county sheriff's office. Also, many law enforcement agencies are posting lists online.
It's stupid to blackball all of the people that qualify as sex offenders. Do you realize that an 18 year old that had consensual sex with his/her 16 year old boyfriend/girlfriend will be on that list the rest of his/her life? All the while being hounded by crybabies saying the sky is falling.
And no, I'm not on a list, I just think it's largely a load of crap. Why don't we have lists for all the other criminals?

Log on to the National Sex Offender Registry...I found two in my area.

It's good to know who the Sex Offenders are in your area.
Almost all of the local police dept. has a link to a site that will tell you the local sex offenders, what they did, and the age of their victims. So, that might discount the "I had sex with my 16 year old girlfriend theory."
If you live in Texas, DPS (State police) has a state wide list on their web site. I'm a police officer, and I know we have that information on our web page.

Look up at the top left of your screen, right under the "ask" tab there is a "search for questions" space. Type yours in there and you will see it has been answered many times. Good luck.
