saddened or ashamed that you couldn't do more to awaken more people to the Truth ???

I think about this often . I am waiting in joyful hope of the return of Jesus Christ, but at the same time I feel very saddened that sooooooo many refuse to accept Him . And I look back and wonder.. .... was there more that I could've done ?

How about you ???

There is always more.. That's a major reason we are saves by faith because with works there is always more we could do. Don't beat yourself up. It is sad that the lost is so hard hearted but remember it's our job to talk the message of Jesus to the world it's the Holy Spirits Job to win souls... Now as for the last days. The writer to the Hebrews says we are in the last days. Do you know the verse?

Hebrews 1:1-2
God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets,
Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds;

So the writer believe that he was in the last days... Ok what about now:
2 Thessalonian 2:1-3
Now we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by our gathering together unto him,
That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand.
Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;

Does that tell you that we have a few days left anyway? I really hope that helps you.... It was nice talking with you my brother... Jim

Yes, I sometimes feel the same way. However, I know I have limitations. I am no preacher and God knows I will share my faith readily if the opportunity arises. The best thing I can do is pray daily for those in my sphere of influence (i.e. friends and family members). I pray that the Lord lift the veil from their eyes so that they can see His truth.
I guess as a Christian we are to somehow balance this sadness with the joy God is willing to place in the heart of a Christian and the peace that passes all understanding. I try to live life with joy. I, too believe the end is near so I try to do whatever good I can when the opportunity presents itself. As of late, there have been people I have been able to help. The best thing I can do is pray and be a little light in the darkness of this world.

I don't mean to come off as rude, but why do you think THESE are the end times? Why 2006 AD? Why has it taken two millennia for them to arrive?

Seriously, compare these times to various other times that the world has seen throughout history, and it really doesn't seem bad at all. I've brought up this example before, but imagine living in Europe during the Black Plague; those people probably thought the end of the world was right at their doorstep. The world faces very serious threats nowadays but it's seen MUCH worse.

"was there more that I could've done ?"

With all due respect, you guys aren't making very convincing arguments. I have an open mind but I haven't read anything that would even change my beliefs a LITTLE bit, and I don't believe what Christianity teaches. If someone presents some evidence or a convincing argument or SOMETHING one of these days, I'll gladly change my mind, but that hasn't even come close to happening.

I feel saddened because I keep trying and trying (in a positive way), if people would just realize how joyous their lives will be. If society can accept all the popular trends of today (with shows on TV, movies,music and computers).....I would hope and pray that the most simple of task is right there for the taking to accept Jesus as their Savior. He died for all of us, and all He wants is to be accepted.
We have causes in our country like the Aids Foundations, the Hunger Foundations, Animal Rights, Civil Rights, Hurricane Relief Organizations but the most simplest but greatest cause is Jesus Christ.

I don't feel ashamed because I know that I am doing the most I possibly can in the ministry. Saddened, for sure! I keep reminding myself though of what it says at John 6:44 (No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day). I know that Jehovah reads hearts and will save all those worthy no matter if they hear the good news from me or not. He could make the stones cry out to save people if he wanted to (Luke 19:40).

It all comes back to choice. God will make the Gospel perspicuous to those who have positive volition. Even though it pains us to think that our loved ones do not want the gift of eternal life with our Lord we have to keep studying. Pray that the Lord would present a clear delineation of Jesus's great work.What I know that is I am a baby boomer and know nothing about computers. This site just "accidentally" crossed my path. I know that God gave me an answer to a prayer and he told me that I was specifically to let men incarcerated know that they can save our nation. What this tells me is that the power is in our minds. It is funny because the next day after the answer to my prayer I heard on the news that prison is the new fear for the spreading of terrorism. How would I know that? I live in Timbuktu. He also gave me the date of 11/11 to spread this message. What I deduced from that was that politicians are not going to stop terrorism. Christians in the USA will prevent these attacks by using 1John1:9, PRAYING. Look up 2nd Chronicles7:14 and Pray. Call in the God of the Armies. Jesus is waiting for us to wake up. Become a prayer warrior. Peace out.

The world definitely is getting scary. I live in a very small town right smack dab in the middle of the Bible belt, and it's getting bad here now. The kids can still pray at football games in school and the kids sing religious songs at Christmas, but just 40 miles away in the next town, just today I heard there is a lawsuit over the kids praying in their school.

I think about trying to help people too, at this point, especially my children. Unfortunately, even the churches in our town are becoming so corrupt. If we miss even one Sunday, the next week, we get looks like you would not believe. We are trying a new one this Sunday.

People don't care anymore. They won't stand up for their beliefs, and if they do, they are rude about it, turning away even more potential converts(so to speak) I am scared for my children. I am scared for all the unbelievers. They really have no clue what's coming.

Today is the day of salvation.

Pressing toward the Goal
I don't mean to say that I have already reached perfection! But I keep working toward that day when I will finally be all that Christ Jesus saved me for and wants me to be. No, dear brothers and sisters, I am still not all I should be, but I am focusing all my energies on this one thing: Forgetting the past and looking forward to what lies ahead, I strain to reach the end of the race and receive the prize for which God, through Christ Jesus, is calling us up to heaven.

Hi, although I know what you mean, we need to be very careful about thinking that it is we who convert others, this is not the case as only God can do this, it would be prideful for us to think that we succeed or fail in conversions of our on power, the best that we can do is to be faithful to Jesus and allow Him to work through us to convert another, and so every conversion is a victory for Christ and we only share in that victory.
there is a set time for the Gentiles according to scripture and not everyone will be saved, and so we have to carry on being faithful and leave this to God and not worry too excess about what God will do, in you Oh Lord, I place my trust.

There is a tendency for people to want to "beat themselves up", especially where the salvation of others is concerned. Yeshua's charge to us is simply this "Go Ye . . ." (that's me and you et al) "into all the world . . ." (beginning now and wherever we're at) "and teach all nations . . ." (that's spreading the gospel" "baptizing them . . ." (this is based on a positive response on their part). Is there anything in the forgoing which states categorically that we are to make them believe? NO! We are sowers of seed and nurturers (husbandmen) of the vineyards and fields. A husband may sow seed into his wife, is it the responsibility of either husband or wife for a resulting embryo (child) to develop? You do well in posing the question and you will do well in answering for your part of the above equation and ultimately we need to do which is most difficult Trust G-d for the results.
