That's why they have "Bible Stories For Children" books. Then the kids grow up thinking the children's bible is the same as the actual thing and never bother to read about all the violence, sex, drunk, incest, murder, torture, etc...children today though are allowed to play video games where they go around shooting people (from a first person perspective) so reading the bible probably won't do much harm unless they believe it. Most children couldn't understand a lot of the old english of the bible anyway and would probably get bored before they finished Exodus.

Education is the key. Parents need to sit with children and teach them right from wrong. Be involved with every aspect from homework to sports. Sit with them at dinner time and ask how their day was. I don't think reading something that has to do with any subject is going to turn any child into a serial killer or even into a sports fanatic.

I think children should be taught out of the new testament and real small children out of picture bibles. As a child gets older, like 12 or more, they could be introduced to the old testament for history and wisdom and inspiration(Psalms).

Well it is explaining the sin and evil of that time, but look at the consequences. The earth was flooded BECAUSE of that sin and evil...those that continued that lifestyle didn't go to Heaven with Jesus. Of course the kids should read it. The Bible is THE book of life, it's a multi~dementional book that has everything you need to know. I personally want my kids to read and follow the word. Thank you Jesus for your work and your word!

All the things listed are there to show that they are morally wrong, not as entertainment. Would you also like to ban newspapers, TV and the internet while you're at it?
