have siblings theres strength in numbers - and no matter what problems you go through at least there is someone else there that understands you and what you've been through. plus only children tend to be more selfish cos they never had to share or compromise, i think people with siblings have better social skills as a general rule.

I think it depends on the situation. Having siblings can help you become better socialized, make you feel like you are less alone in the world and give you support when bad things happen. On the other hand, siblings can make you annoyed with your family/detached from them emotionally and perhaps cynical about the world. Maybe your parents play favorites (not in your favor) or maybe your siblings are so different from yourself through their values and outlooks on life that you are disgusted with the world everytime they do something idiotic. Not having sibllings (like myself) can make you a spoiled brat or just more independent. My family didn't have much money, so I was more aware of our financial problems and my responsibilities to the family because of this. Not having siblings helped me become more contientious, but I have friends that will probably be more sucessful then I will be because they are more motivated to leave their families and go out into the world.

I could just go back and forth.
Again, it is different in every situation.

Depends on what means more to you. I have a brother and a sister and the company my whole life has been great, as much as we have a love hate relationship, I dont think I could stand the mad relations without them. On the other hand a friend of mine is 21 and an only child. Her parents never remortgaged their house or anything and have moved to spain to run a pub, signing the house over to her. So she has her own house with no rent or mortgage to pay off at 21 years of age!!!!!

Definitley to have siblings but this cannot always happen but i really think a child with siblings is much better off socially and also so they arent spoilt. my son at the moment is still an only child and is crying for me to have more babies for him to play with they get lonely too its nice for them to have that closeness with a brother or sister.

I would of said to have siblings....but I have fallen out with my sister and I still would say siblings.

I think with some people you can tell that they have 'single child syndrome'

Only children must get very lonely and have far too many imaginary friends.

I think its better to have a brother or sister. I wouldnt like that many mind! I have 1 brother, hes only a year older and Ive learnt lots and lots from him. And Im sure he's learnt quite a bit from me as we grew up. I think when you have a brother or sister you learn more social skills and interact with more people. You learn to share and understand other peoples feelings better. I also think that having some one in your family thats not a parent makes it easy to talk about things that are bothering you, at least you have some one to ask for honest truthful advice. I would be lost with my brother. Three cheers for my brother Phil..... :)

Since I have siblings and can't imagine life without them I guess I'd say having siblings is better. I have a close relationship with my family.

None is better because they each have advantages and disadvantages.
An only child can benefit from having siblings and also by being by themself.
