I hope this answers your question.
The first time Satan appeared, he was in the form of a serpent in the Garden of Eden. Then later on in Isaiah it talks about Lucifer who was the highest angel who exalted himself as God and was an angel. Then in Job, he appears as an accuser. In the two last examples, he most likely was not a snake. I can't recall where it is in the Bible but the scriptures talk about Satan as being the most beautiful of all the angels. So, he is a manipulator to have caused 1/3 of the angels to follow him.
So, I think the reason we don't know what he looks like is that Satan as a fallen angel has the ability to look like anything he probably wants to. A further allusion to this is where in the Bible it talks about that we can entertain angels unawares. Angels can take on human form.
So, in a nutshell, the reason we don't know what Satan truly looks like is that he can change appearance.
Also, I think another reason we don't see pictures of him is because it might start to become an idol. When we use a picture or a graphic as something that points us or reminds us of something, it's an icon. But when we start to revere or worship that object as being holy, it becomes an Idol. So, in light of that argument, I think that if we were to have pictures of Satan, there would be some people who would actually worship the picture!

he can and does appear to people and I had such an experience some years ago and I can tell you it was the most evil thing.
generally satan likes to hide in the shadows and work at the intellectual level, by suggestions and implanting ideas, can you imagine the support that he would lose if the whole world saw him together?
no, he is the father of lies and deceit and prefers to operate where he cannot be detected to easily.

He takes on different personas. If you remember, he was described as a beautiful angel before being cast out of Heaven. I believe he is able to appear as an evil murderer type, a beautiful woman(with evil intent), and even my sister-in-law. Ok, maybe not my SIL, but I wonder sometimes. LOL He's clever. He's smart. He knows how to "get to" us. He's good at trickery(is that a word?) He is able to look like anything he wants, in my opinion.

I hate to break this to you...but there is no such thing is SATAN...there is only bad entities...there is no HELL! We're living in it right now..With out bad we'd never learn lessons in life..God or what some people call higher powers..IE MOTHER GOD..BUDDA...and so on...have to let us try to teach us lessons in life..what a boring place this would be if everything went without incident.

He is an angel who turned wicked they are spirit persons and they are invisible to humans that is why the bible says they clothed themselves in human bodies. They can look anyway they want and do, even enter other humans bodies. Do unspeakable acts and then leave the human to hang for the deed.
Saying this voice told me to do it. So they can look anyway they want. So my guess is they are attractive. doesn't the bilble say the devil turns himselve into an angel of light.
