In children, it is often difficult to distinguish between bipolar and ADD/ADHD, so it may be worth getting a second opinion. If you haven't read it, can I also suggest you get a copy of the Bipolar Disorder Survival Guide (Amazon link below). It may also be worth looking at http://www.crazyboards.org as you will get some good advice there.

Bi polar is like a cycle and they do fine for a time and then it just falls apart for a time and then better.
It is part of the disease. They feel good and think they do not need the meds and stop taking them and then it gets really bad.
Be sure she stays med compliant and does not stop taking the meds. Working with her in councling may be the best thing you can do.
It is not easy to live with someone who has problems. It takes patience and sometimes you need a break. Make sure you are getting some time for yourself doing something you like to do. If you are not find out if you can get some help to watch her while you take a break. It is important for you to keep yourself healthy and that menas mental as well as physical. Take some time for you.
Good luck.

i have a son who is both of those as well and i will tell you now there isn't really alot of help out there they will only tell you to keep her in couseling, but it doesn't do a whole lot and you probably know that by now, i wish that there was something more that i could tell you, but from my own experience i have noticed that the meds don't work all the time either and some days are unbearable and all i can say is that you have to have alot of patience and try to be understanding about the whole thing.

You just have to learn to have more patience with her. What she needs is lots of support. She is the one dealing with the bipolar, and that is difficult. I too am bipolar and most people just want to be mean and yell at me. That is not the way to deal with her. You need to realize when she is in a very bad mood, she needs consoling. Maybe you should consider taking her back to therapy, it really helps.
