I find confession so very difficult. Do Episcopalian priests keep confession a secret?

Confession is hard but being at peace with yourself and with God is worth it.

Episcopalians do not have confession, to my knowledge, but I am sure any Episcopalian priest has the decency to maintian confidentiality.

The historical separation between Roman Catholics and Anglicans has narrowed after both found common ground on the position of Mary, mother of Jesus, according to a document conceived at the highest church levels and released in Seattle yesterday.

Episcopalians don't have to go to confession. It is a choice. I've been an Episcopalian all my life and have never gone; however, if someone did, the priest would keep the confession a secret. As for reconciliation, I think as far as theology goes, they're getting closer, but the social issues and the Pope's authority are what will continue to keep them apart.

Confession is difficult, but easier than living in a state of sin.

I am not of this denomination myself so offer no criticism for what you or they believe.........however. am curious how you can go to a man for forgiveness when the Scriptures teach forgiveness comes only from God.
If that is the case, would you not confess to God as the Scriptures say.

Man is of a sinful nature from birth, then how could another man be worthy(higher) to help you with your sins.

Seems the only thing Man could offer is one who has been forgiven by God directing you to God.

Search the Scriptures and then your own heart(as I have) in regard to this.

Remember also - that faith in Christ is what God has taught from the Scriptures......denominations are simply splits among men of varying opinions.
To believe or accept Christ or not - is all God has told us.- determines our eternal destiny.

I don't know about E preists, but for your first question I would say probably not. Human beings are far too stubborn.

They are all a snake oil salesman. None have the truth and or teach the truth. They are big business and make a lot of money.
It is all about the money and please the majority of people.
Whoever pleases the most people gets the most contributions.
So they are all clammering to please the most people.
