I think happier. Technology, as a whole, has made life easier in my opinion. Computing, access to information, banking, telecommunications, automotive, sound.........the list could go on and on. All of those things have a positive influence and make life easier for me. I remember my mother washing clothes in a wringer washer and hanging them outside on a clothes line. Piles of dirty dishes that have to be washed by hand. Writing checks and addressing the envelopes for paying bills was a pain. Again, I could go on and on. Hope this helps.

This is a tough one. I think that life is much easier for people with the addition of technology - I don't know necessarily that it's happier. I do truly believe the quality of life has improved (e.g. better health care, sanitation, transportation, etc.) - and the birth of email and voicemail, online chatting, etc. have removed essential components of communication - you lose intonation, body language, eye contact when you're not face-to-face with someone.
I have to say, I derive a lot of pleasure from my technological toys - I appreciate being able to drive to my office - listening to the radio.
I can't say assuredly that people are happier now - I know I would be a lot LESS happy if suddenly all of this technology were taken away! How I love the flush of the toilet, cooking food on the stove, watching a new dvd, getting an email from an old friend.
I hope that helps!

I don't necessarily think people are more fulfilled since they have all the technology, but I know it makes life easier for alot of people. I honestly think that people have become less social and more isolated since all of the new technology. People seem to get lost with their heads down looking at their blackberry or talking on cell phones all the time. I think they have stopped noticing others around them. Also, cards and letters are almost a thing of the past with email now. I just think a card or a handwritten letter is still more thoughful than an email.Hope this helps.

I don't think people were ever happier. I don't think people are happier now. Someone from the past would not be used to our technology and would not know what they are missing. They are happy in their lives feeling good that they have so much more than thier past generations. People now are happy with what we have and we feel better that we have so much more than our past generations. Happiness is the same. Our lives are easier now but that is all. I don't think the level of happiness is related to how much work they were doing. (someone from now travelling to the past is another story just as someone from now travelling into the future would be a whole different story) Each person in thier context is equally happy.

Technology is a mixed blessing. Sure, it makes life easier in so many aspects, but to "keep up" with the latest models, or replace the cheap models of appliances that break down after a short life (think refrigerators, washers, dishwashers) you need to keep spending money. And for that, you need to keep working, and have a two-income family.
One way in which the world has changed for the worse is in making cheap things faster to keep up with demand. Part of that is because of technology, which allows things to be made by machine or in a more cost-effective (but not neccessarily high quality) way.
People do not care about breaking things as they once did because it is as easy as going to the nearest wal mart and getting a new one. If you don't have money, use your credit card!
Times were definitely simpler when we did not have so much technology but not neccessarily easier. Physically, work was tougher. But then people did not mind because that was all they knew.
I think people are less fulfilled because the very technology that was supposed to make things easier, has made it neccessary for people to work longer hours.

Happier, yes. Healthier, no!!!People complain because they can't sleep, they over eat sitting in front of tv, games, the computer. But, they are happier because they are being entertained. They don't have to work near as hard as they did in the old days. Good Luck with school!!! Great question by the way!!

I think we are more fulfilled with the new technology. I believe we all like the simplicity in all jobs. I mean, would you rather hand wash all of your clothes, then hang them up or use a washer and dryer. If we weren't happier with new technology, then we wouldn't strive so hard to continue on improving it.

I think most people are happier now that technology can do alot of our "chores" for us. It's not that we couldn't do them if we didn't have technology, it's just that technology makes it easier. You may not admit it but everyone knows it is better to sit back and watch someone(or in this case something) else do it.

I think that people were happier when they had to do more work themselves. There is a certain amount of satisfaction that comes from knowing you can fend for yourself. Good luck on your project.

People where happier when they had to do more of the work. Why? Its was more personal. Talking to each other. Now, your talking to computers and other things.
No fellowship. Think about this way.. Would you want a friend you could only talk to each other with computers. Or would you like it better to be able to talk to each other one to one. better fellowship. right!
