NO!!
This is an old wives' tale and IS NOT TRUE!

Most of these people still believe this crap, but the truth is, it makes NO DIFFERENCE WHEN you eat, what matters is HOW MUCH you eat. A calorie consumed at 9pm does not count more than one consumed at 5pm!

Eat A Couple Of Hours Befor Bed Time Because When Your Sleep Your Body Doesnt Digest As Fast If You Eat a While Befor You Sleep Youll Burn Some Of That Off Befor You Go To Sleep

If you have a certain amount of calories that you eat a day and you have done your allotted exercise it does not matter if you eat your meal before bed.

If you are allowed 1200 calories and 30 minutes exercise a day if you exercise at 6am or 10pm as long as you do it. It goes the same with your calories It does not matter if you have your meals all in the morning or in the middle of the night as long as you eat your 1200 calories per day.

If you eat a 10 course meal just before bed it might hinder you sleeping and make it uncomfortable to sleep and have an affect that way. It is not recommend to eat before bed because of other thing but not weight gain.

Ok, all of these people who claim your body isn't burning calories and your late-night calories will be stored as fat are wrong.

Simply, you gain weight if you consume more calories than you burn. An average person burns about 1 calorie per minute (more or less if you weigh more than average/less than average), just laying around doing nothing. If you consume 1000 calories in the morning and 1000 calories 10 minutes before bed, it doesn't matter, as long as you burn off 2000 calories or more per day.

(I just used 2000 as a reference number. Figure out how many calories you need per day, and stick to it. It does NOT matter WHEN you consume then, just how many of them you consume and how many you burn off.) Just make sure you don't wait til night time to eat because you may binge & over-eat which IS a problem, but it doesn't have anything to do with the time you're eating.

They say to eat a good Breakfast and Lunch as most people more active then. For Dinner/Supper they say to eat moderately and a few hours or more before bed. Also, eating too close to bedtime or drinking Colas can cause Heartburn.

Yes it does. It is healthy to eat at least 2-3 hours before bedtime. This help in digestion and sleeping on a light stomach

It does not matter when you eat. Weight gain or loss is determined by calories in versus calories out (via exercise and daily metabolism). Several small meals a day is best to maintain metabolism and activity levels.

It sure does if you are eating close to bedtime...the reason to this it's because the food taken will be turn into energy, such that you are going to bed and not gonna work much on the energy, resulted energy not being use will be turn into little baggage around your waist!!! If you don't believe, try eating close to bedtime everyday......and in a couple of months, you might see a pear when you stand in front of the mirror !!

Metabolic rate slows down during sleep. Yes, it impacts weight gain if you eat close to bedtime. Best to cut down on carbo at dinner time and eat more vegetables and fruits.

SUpposedly people say it's calories, not time you eat, but for me personally, i will absolutely not lose weight if I eat right before bed. Eating a light dinner 3-4 hours before I sleep works well for me.

everyone is different and it depends on your metabloism. There have been studies done that support "not eating after 6PM to avoid weight gain" as well as studies to support "there is no advantage to eating or not eating at certain times of the day". The key is to not over eat, and numerous small meals are better than 3 big ones. You'd be suprised on how little people really need to eat to maintain themselves as they get older, but it needs to be healthy non-processed foods: fruits & vegetables, whole grains (in limited amounts) and limited fat proteins.
