Most-bad, few good. TV is a wonderful tool that can be used to reach almost everyone. One televangelist can do in 30 minutes today, what it would take a thousand to do in their lifetime just 100 years ago. Unfortunately where there is the opportunity to make money, there will be those who want to make money. We must not judge all televangelist by the actions of some. When we see those who "claim" to represent God, doing things that are ungodly-like Ted Haggard and Benny Hinn-we must not judge those-like D James Kennedy and Adrian Rogers- who serve God with a their whole heart.
But to answer you question- I would have to say that most televangelist just give Christianity a bad name, but not all.

It's a double-edged sword. People can get a blessing in strange ways. I remember feeling spiritually uplifted watching Sister Act with Whoopee Goldberg. I believe people are being blessed and uplifted by televangelists. I belive people are being saved. That is good. However, the televangelists are still accountable to God for any crookedness means they choose to employ. I spiritually thrive off of televangelists though, because whether they're desperate for souls or desperate for money, they put a lot of work into their sermons. I recommend Amazing Facts the most.

I think they are just really bad actors. I am sure they think they help people, but I thought the christian faith was about love and respect, yet they talk so terrible about some people, it makes me wonder. I am sorry but If I donate any amount of money, it would not be to them, even though they will garauntee you a spot in heaven. Really it is just a joke, I am not a christian, but at times when flippin through the channels I watch bits of them and they are so funny. I can only laugh.

Every one of them is a crook,I cannot believe anyone lets themselves get sucked in by these charlatans. But hey if someone wants to send their money to TBN so than Paul Crouch can buy another ranch and some more homes all over the world, and so his wife can buy some more makeup( what a freak of nature, eewww!) then those people who support these thieves deserve what they get. Anyone other than me notice that Oral Roberts has never built anything with Jesus's name on it, everything he builds is Oral Roberts this or Oral Roberts that, why cant these people get a clue?

Most televangelists are in the business only for the money. They don't give a hoot about you and me, only how much money they can bilk out of us. And they do it in God's name... That is the worst / lowest form of sacriledge I have ever seen.

I trust some, not all. Basically if they use the bible and tell you where to find the scriptures so you can check them out, do so. Gods word will not not return void. I trust John Hagee as a preacher, I don't know anything about his personal life.

There might be one or two genuine ones, but I think most of them are either scam artists or egomaniacs. If you took away the money and the fame, I think that they would drop preaching so quickly it would make your head spin.

They're scam artists. They give all of humanity a bad name and smear christianity the worst.
