And it says the windows of heaven will be opened, and pour out more blessings than we can recieve...I can attest to that. The windows of heaven really have poured out upon me and my family for following this simple teaching.
Thanks

For Christians, I do agree that we should be giving from our hearts and our pocketbooks to God. But where the tithe should be going is also up for debate.
Personally, I've felt God tell me that someone else needs the money or to give somplace else besides my own congregation. So, I feel that where we give the money should be based on what God shows you.
But I also believe that God shows us that it's not about reaping a harvest. Sure, God will supply our needs, but sometimes the needs are not so we can have a nicer car, or a nicer house, or nicer material things. Because the Bible says not to be focused on the material things. In fact, if you look at the people in the New Testamant, very few people ever were rich!! So, the harvest we gather may be something for eternity, or it may be a nonfinancial blessing. If we are giving just so we can be blessed, then I believe that's for selfish reasons, not so we can show our love for God.

Tithing was an old testament practice of the Jews. The practice as such does not carry over into the Christian religion any more than circumcision, stoneing, or so many other Jewish practices. There is no place in the New Testament where tithing is said to be a act of obediance. Giving is condoned but no set amount or percentage is laid out.

Tithing -part of the purpose was to sustain a full-time priesthood.
Christianity did not have a paid clergy. All were ministers. There is no command for Christians to tithe

Correct!
And he does, here on earth and later in Heaven.
Giving is not easy, but the rewards are huge!
Most of us waste more than 10% on stuff that will never make us as happy as giving it to the poor.
Peace and God Bless!

you truly did not ask a question. BTW: A Jewish believer can be a Christian, and not in any respect purely Gentile believers. The church is the Christian collective; those who're in possession of the Holy Spirit, inspite of any church company they might or would no longer attend. it truly is yet another on your sequence: Repent, repentance. The act of turning to God, and not in any respect a case of expressing some regret for sin. Repentance change into "granted" to the Gentiles through God. earlier, a Gentile might want to no longer turn to God, yet a Gentile might want to correctly be regret his sins and attempt to stay away from committing them. well, a person can tithe in many ways, not necessarily in money- you can donate your time to an elderly person, you can help a needy family, you can donate time at a care home, you can do charity work at clinics, or animal shelters...... God looks at your heart. not always at your pocketbook!
