There is normally a state law that outlines the charges. When I ordered records for claims in KS and MO they would charge me (the insurance company) something like a $15.00 processing fee plus a per sheet charge of $0.25 up to 300 pages after that the per sheet charge decreases to I think $0.15. I no longer work claims but that is accurate as of about a year ago. This does vary from state to state.
I am surprised they are charging you at all since you are their patient.
