Jack Johnson: for being original and being successful at it. Joe Louis: what can you write about Joe Louis that hasn't been written! Muhammad Ali: for defeating some of the best heavy weights of that era. Sonny liston: yeh a know here's why floyd Patterson a good champion lasted just over 2 minutes in both fights with liston 1st round mr Patterson later went 12 with Ali and finished on his feet a will let you think about it. Rocky marciano: 49-0 Jack Dempsey : ferocious and had some very good fights he broke bones and men Joe Frazier: gained his place when he whipped Ali Lennox Lewis: as much as I hate to say it because he's so boring to watch and has no personality but he defeated alot of rely good fighters. Evander Holyfield: I just think he is all round a excellent boxer! Mike Tyson: I don't understand why people go on about how he is **** and overrated have you seen him fight in like his first 36 fights it's skill and entertaining I personally think that in his prime he would have giving any heavy weight in history a good fight ( watch razor ruddock vs mike Tyson rely good fight )

-----the guy hu wrote ESPN's greatest heavyweight only took that down from the book...after my experience with boxing, this is how i rate the best-----

1)Muhammed ali
the greatest as man, and as boxer.

2)George Foreman
foreman was remmebered for his LEAN MEAN FAT REDUCIN ****** MACHINE or whatever..but as a boxer, he was increadible. if muhammed ali had boxed with george foreman he wud hav got killed just like joe frazier, ken norton and george chavolo.

3)Joe Louis
proberly the most fittist and skilled boxer in the ring

4)Mike Tyson
In his prime he was unbelievable (of course we all know what happened to him. jail, money, don king, women, ear biting ect.) but all of these things cant be put in front of his amazing skill and power.

5)Joe Frazier
This is one of the toughest fighters alive, you cant question the heart of joe frazier. his style was original and his stamina was SMOKIN'! (for some reason, in the game's his stamina is **** lol)

6)Lennox Lewis
What can i say? he's a great boxer
(although he did say he was greater than muhammed...keep dreaming lewis)

7)Jack Dempsey
Very exciting to watch him fight, he came in the ring with great fury and power, good boxer non the less

8)Nickoly Valuea
To be honest...i cant see this man lose, but i suppose we just have to wait and see.

9)Rocky Marciano
The reason why i have him at no.9 is because i think rocky was undeafeted, but untested in his prime, fierce powerful boxer, i just wished he went against greater men such as ali or joe frazier.

10)Evander Holyfield
The last, but certainly not the least. this man had the heart of a lion. powerful in his prime and prooved to every1 he was a better boxer than mike tyson

11)Rocky Balboa
lol

good question by the way! thank's!

Mike Tyson is the best. Ali could go down with one right hook with a 20 year old Tyson.
