You will need to run video and audio cables from the video out of your cable box(usually there will be an option to connect composite video with audio cables, yellow+red+white) to the video in on your VCR. You will then need to set your VCR to record off the input your connected your cable box into. After that, you should be set to go.

On your cable box - the "Antennae Out" should be connected to your TV. Unplug it from your TV to the "Antennae In" on your VCR.
Now -take the "Antennae Out" from the VCR and plug it to the TV.
make sure your TV is set to channel 3 or 4.., try channel 3 first.
After that - you may have to let your VCR auto-tune the Tv channels for reception. Just let it do its thing if it does. If not, you will have to click on the VCR "menu" button and look for "tuning" or "channel set" and select "Autotune" OR just manuially set channel 3.
