infidel (n) - One who rejects a particular dogma or religion.

We are ALL infidels.

From what I can gather the intepretation is very wide. Sunni, for example, can consider Shi-ites to be infidels because of their views on the Caliph situation. Because of the conflicts and the vast ways of interpreting things, ANYONE WHO DOESN'T BELIEVE EXACTLY AS YOU qualifies.

Technically, however, it would be those who don't surrender fully to Islam, Allah, the various prophets and the Quran.

Again, however, since ONE FACTION had one Caliph and another FACTION has a different ascension line, you are DISBELIVING, hence an Infidel. You are NOT surrendering.

Invaders are a completely different story. We can take the Ottman Turks and use their expansion as an example in the Southern side of the Gulf.

You have two factions Infidels and Invaders.

I also recently saw some citations specifically about Jews and Israel, who fall under a completely different set of rules:

[17:4] We addressed the Children of Israel in the scripture: "You will commit gross evil on earth, twice. You are destined to fall into great heights of arrogance.
[17:5] "When the first time comes to pass, we will send against you servants of ours who possess great might, and they will invade your homes. This is a prophecy that must come to pass.
[17:6] "Afterwards, we will give you a turn over them, and will supply you with a lot of wealth and children; we will give you the upper hand.
[17:7] "If you work righteousness, you work righteousness for your own good, but if you commit evil you do so to your own detriment. Thus, when the second time comes to pass, they will defeat you and enter the masjid, just as they did the first time. They will wipe out all the gains you had accomplished."

This, it would seem, is the citation that allows for the destruction of the Zionist state. AT least it sets a primary precedent.

Apparently Americans are infidels for some reason. That's what Al Qaeda seems to think.
