How can one defend "faith"? Isn't "Faith" the abandonment of reason and logic? Isn't Faith, the willingness to let some other authority or text or person TELL YOU WHAT TO THINK? How can anyone defend that. It seems like insanity. Use your brain, its why you have one. Think for yourself, use your reasoning powers, figure things out, don't accept any doctrine or explanation without first examining it for yourself.

Yes. 1 Peter 3:15 says: "...always ready to make a defense before everyone that demands of you a reason for the hope in you, but doing so together with a mild temper and deep respect."
However, not everyone on Yahoo Answers is after information. Some just want to be obnoxious or insulting. They are to be ignored.

Not so much defend it, but know that you are right. If you try to convince others that your way is right then it only proves that you are insecure about your faith...i know it sounds confusing, but it's true...you should try getting in better touch with your faith before you try to prove others wrong.

We are to be keepers and defenders of our faith. By defending we are not to initiate violence. If your faith has any value to you then defend it if not go hide under a rock.

Yes, but not to the extreme. Nobody can force another to believe as they do, but they can certainly defend it when it is being insulted. I am a muslim woman, and even I know it's not for everyone. You have to go with what suits your spiritual needs. One can always educate you about their religion, but that doesn't mean it's right for everyone. Some just aren't able to handle pressures that various religions have.

If you actually believe it is worth defending, yes. If you don't, then do you really have faith?

If your confident in your faith, there is no need. You don't need to prove anything to anyone.

I do my best to dispell wrong information about my religion.
Defend it? How? Why?
It's not the "one right only true way" so I don't have to engage in THAT kind of silliness.
